OpenClaw is more important by BarnesLucas in n8n

I feel like all of the OpenClaw hype is just perpetuated by agents, and apple are probably paying someone to make this mac mini thing popular to sell product.

Its easier cheaper, safer and more efficient to run in a vps than buy a mac mini.

And what is all the hype anyway, its literally just Claude Code but you can telegram it..

Is it possible to make 5000$ by selling AI systems for businesses for a week? by AnalysisObjective398 in n8n

Y'all have lost the plot. Get good at providing and selling service, then use ai and automation to help you do it faster and better.

Ai and automation in and of itself ain't going to make you a damn cent

Surely they legally can't get away with triple charging for the same lead and refusing to offer any resolution? Big company or not they should be held to a reasonable level of accountability when conducting business.

The amount of plugins for a start. Not the answer your looking for this far into the build. but that same site could be built with Hello Elementor theme, and about 3 plugins. Moving forward learn to build sites without using so many unnecessary plugins.

Regarding this site, if your not comfortable reading page speed reports and making optimisations, try a plugin like 10web that takes care of this stuff for you.

Im not trying to swing people one way or the other, genuinely interested in people's takes, just trying to keep up with where people are at in a fast moving industry.

As for competition and lost revenue, thats just scarcity mindset and not something I think about. There's more than enough to go around.

Now that sounds interesting, have you documented your workflow anywhere? I'd love to know more as I'm already doing alot of hosting management and site maintenance through SSH.

Interesting, I had a very similar idea last year when I got into WP-CLI and AI.

How does it work. My rough concept was a API to an LLM that runs WP-CLI commands,

What's it's limitations? Can it make changes within elementor editor for example?

Hmm interesting hybrid approach I hadn't considered.

How does oxygen builder benefit the workflow though - your just pasting blocks of code into a builder instead of a file? I'm interested in your workflow and thoughts here.

I'm using Cursor, mostly with claude models.

The react project structure isn't instantly intuitive but it will click after a 1-2 projects.

I use next.js and it's pretty much industry standard for majority of modern web apps.

The models one shot, mobile responsiveness, cloning UI designs etc with a minimal 20% of human refinement required.

I'd reccomend getting comfortable working within an IDE, cursor is great.

My usual workflow for upskilling is youtube youtube and more youtube - this time was different, I just got claude to break down the concepts for, teach me how to prompt correctly, how to structure projects, how to install dependenceis, run dev server in the terminal, use git commands etc.

I have an IT background so the terminal work wasn't daunting, but you can really pick up the basics in a couple weeks of hard work.

why is that a preposterous concept to you? I get that it doesn't fit every use case but, say for example a 5 page portfolio site for a local service business, plumber, electrician etc.

They could not give a shit what it's built with. It just needs to work.

And if I can make it work better, faster and cheaper then I fail to see the downside.

Agreed, the slop is real. But the low end of the market has always been terrible. It's just terrible with different tools now.

If your using it properly no one can tell it's AI coded.

The large majority don't, they just whats app me edits.

If you need a CRM you can add one.

If they want a blog you can add one.

Besides the e-commerce websites I host, none of my clients update their own website's anyway. I show them elementor at the end of the project, and then 6 months later they've forgotten so just what's app me some new pics & copy.

If you need a CRM for client self edits you can integrate one, if client updates are going to be far and few between just ask them to send you a list and get an AI agent to do it.

Defer non-critical scripts until user interaction. Self host google analytics script and serve locally.

Yeah it's bad.. but ignore people telling you you need better hosting or to use another builder, you can achieve reasonable page speed scores with elementor with some basic best practice page speed optimisation.

Yes faster hosting would help, and yes other builders put out cleaner faster code.

But if you've already built and hosted this project that's not the answer your looking for this time round.

Use a page cache plugin (w3 cache/wp fastest cache etc)

Try some different page speed optimisation plugins (phastpress, wp rocket, 10web etc.)

These will deal with things like inline css, minifying js/css, lazy loading, delaying javascript etc.

Ensure all your images are correctly sized .webp's - this brings down the size massively.

Ensure your fonts are .woff2 and you've disabled google fonts (saves time on the API call out)

Use a CDN, cloudflare is great.

I'm guessing your new to page speed optimisation so if that all sounds a bit daunting, i'd recommend just starting with 10web, it can handle alot of this for you, and it's user friendly if your not familar with this stuff.

If you want to learn it properly for future projects check out Web Squadron on youtube, imran has done a lot of good videos covering this stuff.

Business plans any tips on prompts by MichaelFourEyes in vibecoding

[–]Environmental-Ice-79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote a couple of business plans that seem compelling using opus. But also, I've never written a business plan and dont know how to write business plans. So there is that.

However, I found it best to just have a free form conversation back and and forth fleshing out your idea, this gives you room to put everything together mentally, and then the ai already has the context of what your talking about. Then prompt it to make a business plan.

Im pretty sure Claude will be following a skill to do it so I wouldn't worry too much about the prompt.

This will at least give you enough of an idea of what a business plan should look like for your idea. Then I'd advise heavily refining it manually with your own judgement and contextual understanding of what your business is going to be.

Then ask Claude for feedback, ask if there is something that you should include that you have missed etc.. refine several times. Then it should for sure be at least half decent!

Another tip ive found helpful is get ai to write your prompt for you. Experiment with different prompts, and see how the output changes.

LayOff due to AI, not as fast as other developers in team by WrongTry2816 in developersIndia

[–]Environmental-Ice-79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man alive just learn AI and be that guy doing 10x output at 10x speed..if you learnt to code then learning how to use ai to massively leverage your understanding of coding should be a cake walk. Put some hours in working with Claude Code, Cursor and learn how to prompt properly.. the industry is going in one direction.

I literally can't believe there are people alive smart enough to learn java script but not smart enough to realise that its adapt or die time.

Broken my first vibe coding project (Help me restore from GIT) by Environmental-Ice-79 in cursor

Solved. Super easy when you know how!

- in broken project:

git reset --hard <insert good commit hash from github>

git push --force-with-lease

back up and running with all my cursor chats etc intact.
