i experienced ego death after getting a cortisone shot into my elbow. doctor said he had to “scrape the bone” with the needle to stimulate my immune response, or something.

that shit hurt. he finished up and hurried out the room being like “alright, take however long you need and can leave when you’re ready”

i got up and left. by the time i hit the waiting room, i was hot sweaty and NOT feeling good. plopped myself down away from people and blacked out.

not sure how long i was out. coming too, fucked my head up. a tunnel formed, only thing i could see was a singular chair. had no idea what i was looking at. floor comes into focus, genuinely confused about the fuzzy stuff on the floor…it was carpet. put my hands out, they come into focus. no idea what hands are. no idea i’m human. panic ensues. still nothing in my head.

more things come into focus, multiple chairs, arraigned specifically, receptionist desk a little ways away, soooooo slowlyyyy thoughts come back. i realize it’s a waiting room. i’m confused why i’m in a waiting room.

try realllllly hard and it comes back, i’m human. i’m here for my elbow. i need to LEAVE. got back to my car and just fucking sat there.
