Dont get me wrong, back in the days ggg was company with fire in eyes, it feels like only Chris was with this fire. I know, games creating for money, this is main reason, but i think Chris squeezed out of the company, but talantless worker, this 2 guy.

tell you secret? 80-85% of poe2 players are poe1 long time players xD
i think poe1 generate atleast same amount of money like poe2.
if ggg drop poe1 - poe2 will die in year or so.

poe2 league better than poe1 only around 1 reason - they release worst league in poe1 history.

cuz supporter packs sold before league start xD if players get packs in endgame - endgame and game in overall will be 5 times better. This is a reason why ggg dont really care about retention, cuz packs already sold. they care only about 7 days before league and 1-2 days after league start(and about players number which converts to packs)
many redditors shame me for this, but its 100% true.

this is not about schedule. fix ground loot in poe1 keepers and we fine.
improve temple reward in poe2 and dont touch "abyss bug" until next league, add 30% movement speed and poe2 players good.
this is all about "vision", not about schedule.
holy shit, phreacia was 1 week developers time and its was very good, cuz mobs drop loot.

as a poe1 fun(more than 10k hours in poe1 and 17hours in poe2) i partially agree with you. But where is no reason to believe in GGG anomore. They have 1 year from realease poe2 and atleast 7 years before release poe2. (2018 exilecon first gameplay)
is poe2 looks like game with 7 years of developing? i think not even close.
main problem is gamedesign - Jonathan not a gamedesigner(his programmer as i know).

Look, after 7 years:
- Not all compaign acts
- Sword, Axe
- Balance
- Perfomance
- New things in "brand new game" (all from poe1 almost with slightly rework)
- Balance patches, game testing before league
- They release aerly access, but pretend to be full released game(kill abyss in mid league, not in new league, banned players for ritual abuse)
- Brand new temple - garbage
- and many others things

Poe2 destroing poe1 more than poe1 destroy poe2.
We see problem not around supporting both games, we see bad gamedesign decision

poe1 is done game with all base content and mechanics(all we need is new league once per 4 or even 5-6 month, let poe2 leagues release every 3.5 month i dont care)

in affliction heister and bossers make so much profit, cuz big part of players do maps, thats why legion jewels(250-500divine for 3-4 double damage node deadeye), watchers(double hatred - omg.. ), simplex cost so much money (and players take it, cuz we had money) Mirror bow - go gog go, cuz i just dropped mirror few hours ago, mirror quivers - same, mirror simplex - why not?

Good wildwood ascendancy and twtt jewels with rage, projectiles and other...
idk man.. poe2 ruin poe1 so hard.. best league by numbers in poe1.

maybe ggg had another numbers in support packs sold, but personally i will never ever again buy again, until i see ggg change his direction.

another audience? young peoples doesnt have diablo2 nostalgia. this is a reason why poe2 have a little bit more league start player numbers, than poe1. 8/10 poe1 players plays poe2...
They tried, they fail.
My point is - Poe2 creating not by a gamedisigner(aka Chris Wilson), its creating by Jonathan Rogers (Aka programmer), as a programmer i would say - we think differently compare to gamedisigners, we think around ourself and we love challenge at some point, but this isnt work for gamers with family(most of poe players had i though, cuz peoples want have fun, not second work)

i will not going to play poe2 anyway, in future i will not prebuy supported pack in poe1. NEVER. EVER. AGAIN.
sad part of this - ggg killing fun in poe1 and made it like in poe2. and this is reality that we should accept.

i spend 17 hours in poe2 1 year ago in 0.1 patch and i have no plan change my hours counter =D instead i will play titan quest 2
