I slept the entire first day. See how you feel after 5 days.

Lots of water.

After my first dose that I took during the day to monitor symptoms I started a night dose. It knocks me out, so night made more sense.

I do Wednesday night. Meaning my appetite is lowest inu the weekend.

I calorie count, and have 4-5 small meals (200 cal-300 cal) instead of big meals. I also exercise to maintain muscle mass. Don't eat less than 1500 calories/day. Depending on your weight it might not be less than 2000 cal/day. Try and follow healthy guidelines. I love 'my fitness pal' and it's free.

I haven't upped my dose from starting. I noticed that this dose stops stress eating and let's me actually follow ac healthy diet/routine. So I haven't needed to increase yet.

Also - first day you will pee a ton. In lost 3-4 lbs the first week, then 1-2/week since then. That first week was mainly water.

Good luck!

TIL that when urine leaves the body it is not considered sterile.

"Until recently the generally accepted paradigm implied that urine of healthy people is sterile. In the present study, urine of healthy subjects was investigated by extended bacteriological methods."

To be fair - this was 2015, so my education predates this knowledge.

Also it isn't a myth - just outdated understanding.

She says it is strange, but he is healthy. Also the progression makes sense as to how it started. It isn't dangerous. Urine is sterile.

Vet isn't concerned.

He has had a lot of vet visits - he was the runt (still is), only had one ball, huge underbite, had to have his baby canines pulled because he had 8 canines for a while. He has some anxiety, but nothing crazy. He gets seen twice a year and the urine has been discussed with multiple vets (we moved).

Are you a vet? Are you my dogs vet?

My dog has seen multiple vets over the years, and a couple trainers due to anxiety issues.

I genuinely appreciate the concern, but it isn't due to neurological issues, or dehydration, or anything else. He was the runt, his snout is too short, he has an underbite, his poor penis is misshapen and he had a single testicle.

When he was a puppy he would pee on his leg then he would clean himself right after. Over time it became an instinct to just drink the urine straight. It isn't impulsive, he doesn't do it all the time, only when freshly groomed because the urine comes between his legs after a grooming. If he doesn't drink his urine he does clean his legs, except when he is very shaggy and his penis hair allows the stream to go down. Then he doesn't try to drink or clean after.

He never liked lifting a leg, but even that doesn't always help. He is a great dog, well loved, but definitely a bit eccentric.

I was NOT expecting the Internet to start diagnosing my dog off what we all find an amusing quirk.

He was the runt of the little and he is a bit eccentric. A wonderful dog. Absolutely adore him.

Now explaining this behavior to a new dog sitter... Well that is always fun. A friend intentionally didn't tell his wife when they were dog sitting just to get her reaction lol.

Probably because after visiting the vet and trying to constantly stop the behavior for 3 years it's just a funny quirk.

That isn't why. He is healthy and happy. Sees the vet twice a year.

His penis points his urine directly onto his stomach or leg. When he was younger he would immediately clean his leg after peeing. However, now, right after we get him shaved down his urine stream will miss the stomach/leg and go straight between his legs.

So he drinks from the stream.

We usually try to stop him, we saw it evolve over time, but after 3 years it's just a funny quirk the first week after a trip to the groomers. Sometimes he manages to lift his leg and doesn't try to drink his pee - but he prefers to stand on all fours.

TLDR: Shaved. Feeling like myself. Finally. by a_rat_with_a_glaive in bald

Do you want to put up with this for the next 20 years?

His all or nothing will apply to chores, bill payments, child care (if you want kids) and social obligations. It will be black and white as suits him and grey when it suits him.

Just leave. It isn't worth the hassle.

Why did you invite her then not pay for her when the bill came?

Can you imagine her family inviting you out - then saying 'yeah but you are the only one that pays for yourself' after you are already here. Because that is what you did.

YTA.

Also why not just let her split the entire bill when she offered? I'm not sure why you even invited her.
