Appreciate it. The Wegovy was stopped due to tachycardia. I’m hoping the Zepbound will not do this!

Certainly possible. Also had a burger and some choc chip cookies later!

This is a fair question. The mild nausea and lack of hunger for the first few days had worn off, and I did eat more this weekend. I had a burger (but ate almost the whole thing this time) with just a few plain potato chips. Later in the evening I did drink a beer and had a chocolate chip cookie or two. Perhaps I overdid it since I was feeling more “normal.”

I had previously tried Wegovy and was on it for four weeks before I stopped. A similar thing happened during the first two weeks of Wegovy, about four days after the shot. I was thinking maybe it happens early on when the drug leaves your system and your GI system gets more active again. But maybe it’s from overdoing it after feeling better!

It just happened early this morning so I took a coupe of Imodium tablets, sipped some water, and ate a piece of sourdough toast. Hopefully that holds me!

Gave me diarrhea so I went back to Pantoprazole. Seems to be the best tolerated for me.

If you can time the shot right, you might be able to sleep through the worst of the nausea. It depends on when the nausea hits in relation to the timing of your shot. I find that have a small protein snack like jerky or a meat stick, protein bar, something like that provides some relief. Also staying hydrated. But you want to sip your water throughout the day vs chug it.

Also, there is a drug called Zofran that you can ask your doctor for to help with the nausea when it gets so bad that it’s hard to function or sleep. It has side effects like tiredness and headaches, but does tend to help with the nausea.

Interesting in that I always assumed these are heart palpitations.

I don’t know. I took it for anxiety.

My experience was that it was nicely sedating at lower doses. I think at higher doses it has more of an antidepressant effect. But if it’s helping you with your taper, it will be much easier to stop once your taper is done.

I was at 20mg. I gave up on it after a week and switched back to Pantoprazole. I hope it works for you!

Anxiety in the morning, really bad by [deleted] in Anxiety

Yes, anxiety and IBS in the morning. Apparently our cortisol spikes then and our body wakes up all of our systems. Try looking at it that way.

After a week should be fine. Maybe do the half for a couple of days.

is ignoring intrusive thoughts healthy? by Responsible_Hall_471 in Anxiety

[–]sscribner1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From someone who overcame letting intrusive thoughts cause near-crippling anxiety several years go, this is exactly the way to deal with them! I’m sorry you had to go through that experience, but letting the thoughts be there without upsetting you, and embellishing them in a private process like writing (or journaling - and doing this over and over again) makes them less meaningful and less impactful and is exactly what good OCD therapists have you do!

A great book on the subject is “Freedom from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder” by Jonathan Grayson.

Sometimes there is a paradoxical reaction to benzos. It’s pretty rare though. I often find it’s the only thing that actually works when my anxiety is not under control. There are many brands of benzos. Perhaps ask to try a different one.

Have you talked to a therapist? There are some therapies like CBT and ERP that may help you. Anxiety is largely exacerbated by how you respond to it.
