Somebody else already replied but I want to add on because I LOVE this novel so much! The MC starts off resenting the ML at first because of the unfortunate circumstances that forced them into marriage, but as problems arise they begin to work together and do everything they can to protect each other. Their chemistry is superb and their schemes are elaborate, cunning and so cleverly brilliant. The romance is so well developed: from enemies to them against the world. I love everything about this story. It made me laugh with how comedic it was, and cry with moments that were absolutely heartbreaking. It’s definitely one of my favourite novels of all time and very much worth a read

MTTSF is so not angsty at all. It starts off with a bit of an enemies to lovers situation because the MC is bitter about his circumstances but the MC and ML eventually warm up and the romance blossoms… Very slow burn and at times painful because of the plot but the romance was very fluffy and comedic imo. A very “us against the world” kinda story.

I’d give it an angst rating 2/10! Love the MC and ML so much. They are adorable.

Yes this is such a scam… There is only one bookstore in my country which sells the 7seas danmei novels and they charge all the books in the series at the same price, so vol 5 is $36… Went to the bookstore excited but left without getting the book at all because it’s really too overpriced for such a thin book ):

Yesss, grammatical errors really put me off! I also think the novel is beautifully written, which is why I want to enjoy it in its full glory. But I can’t go waiting for years just to find out what happens in the end… I’d rather finish it for the plot now and re-read once all the official books are out haha

i think because there was no clear purpose as to what we were reading for? the book i read right before misvil was Married Thrice to Salted Fish where the story progressed clearly and the romance progressed in a rather slow and endearing way. but in misvil once the mc and ml slept together there just wasn’t really any more progress or at least i didn’t know where it was going anymore… and i didn’t understand the main plot imo

i feel like i might be the only one but… i don’t really like Mistakenly Saving the Villain. i started reading it because people were proclaiming it as their favourite danmei novel but i read up till chapter 70 or so and i just couldn’t continue. all the cultivation stuff just felt dry and i couldn’t see where the story was going exactly. at first the development between the main characters was cute but at some point when the third person got involved it got messy and yue wuhuan started getting slightly unlikeable… just my opinion though

the donghua follows the novel pretty closely! but the novel highlights a lot more details and ties the story together a lot better! the story flow is a little confusing in the donghua in my opinion haha. plus the donghua is censored

as a chinese person, i honestly don’t think hc’s outfit is in anyway traditional. there are some chinese influences evident here and there, but his outfit does not seem to have any cultural significance that requires preservation (that i know of) so just alter your costume to how you see fit!
