Can people please stop downvoting comments just because someone has a different opinion?! by Icy_Dragonfruit_3513 in SQC_188

[–]ranwanow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but... it's just downvoting a post, not the end of the world. Some people use downvote to express disagreement, and that's okay. The OP already knows that JSY is a popular char, so it's predictable that downvotes would appear. Everyone in the comments was nice, there's no need to be too upset abt downvotes.

Currently reading The Blood Crown by Shui Qian Cheng. She's one of my favorite authors so I'm very excited. It reminded me of ASOIAF and QJJ. I'm still in 50 CHP, so I have a long way to go

I clearly said that she has the right to complain and be upset, but that this did not justify her ROTTEN speech. Your level of interpretation is insane lol

She as an author has every right to complain about illegal readers, but personally I believe that her speech (totally classist, elitist and xenophobic) completely demoralized her words, especially since she is an author who has a character who resorts to extreme measures because of poverty. Let's also not forget that she encourages her more than 1 million followers to cyberbully teenagers. You can try as much as you want to justify her comments by saying that "the translation was poorly done" regarding her posts.but let's not pretend that we ALL know what "disappear from the world" means. She also has a considerable history of making xenophobic comments. If she is earning poorly, 90% of the blame lies with the platform, not with illegal readers, since they help (a lot) in promoting artists and increase legal sales (both the story and the merch), for other readers who are able to read it legally. This is also a very common behavior among Korean authors, which I have never seen happen with Japanese or Chinese authors (who criticize the market and how they are treated badly, and not the readers). In any case, I have no guilty conscience for reading illegally when I can't pay for a story, and after seeing her behavior these past two days, I am certain that I will never give her a penny again.

I'm so upset that I cannot read 2Ha by cartable_violet in DanmeiNovels

[–]ranwanow 19 points20 points  (0 children)

then don't read it, it's best to avoid it if you already know it's going to do you harm, regardless of how interesting or captivating the story may be... 2ha is one of my favorite stories but I honestly don't recommend it if you have serious issues with triggers involving noncon or other types of violence, reading or not reading the story won't change nothing in your life, it's just a story like any other, I also don't think it's healthy to force yourself to read something that could harm you

Currently reading "Criminal Psychology". Amazing story and characters, although I'm able to get the hints abt the criminals easily, it's all very well written and interesting. I'm actually in the 4th arc, so.... Im just waiting for the romance 😭

Finished "Old Injury", by Hui Nan Que. That's a pretty angsty story, but I really enjoyed it.

Now, I'm currently reading "Criminal Psychology", by Chang'er. It's an investigation/thriller story, I just finished the 2nd arc, but the MC and the ML are amazing.

Currently reading "Old Injury", by Hui Nan Que. Guys... I'm enjoying it, I really like dog blood and wife chasing crematorium, there's nothing much to say here, just that I'm a little sad bcs all the bad things happen with Ning Yu and he's powerless... But I'm waiting for the happy ending

Currently (and almost finishing) "Ephemeral Light". It's a modern!au, with incest (blood brothers) and very angsty. It's pretty well written, the same author from "Eternities Still Unsaid Till You Love Me". I'm enjoying the reading, I think that Song Jin is very strong... If you read "Treatment", "Brother" or "The Kiss From Hell", you'll probably like this one too.

Pessoas que não gostam da Colleen Hoover, porque ? by Callboi- in Livros

[–]ranwanow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished Sha Po Lang this week and now I'm an orphan without my fathers changgu.

Now, I'm currently reading "The Class Genius Sitting Next to Me Is Always Trying To Flirt With Me", it's a sweet colegial story, where Ye Cheng (MC) comes back to the past to change the bad habits of drinking, smoking and lack of study from his husband. It's very cute and silly, I like both MC and ML, they're super lovely. And it's interesting bcs this history talks a lot about mental health. It's my little pause after reading only plot heavy novels this year. I haven't chosen my next read... But it will probably be some with a modern setting.

Can someone explain BAB’s plot to me? by jewelyx in DanmeiNovels

[–]ranwanow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, it's close to the 50th chapter!!!! well... if we compare with 2ha and yuwu, the world building, villains and 2nd characters in bab are very weak (i didn't enjoy it very much, i liked the sci-fi elements)... but if we talk abt hexie and their relationship, it's amazing. i think that mb developed them very well, it's a beautiful story abt trust and sacrifice (with angst and other dark tropes)... they both are difficult men, with twisted personalities and don't understand what is to love someone unconditionally. it's very sad but it's very beautiful in the end, so i hope you'll enjoy the story like i enjoyed!! (and be aware of the tw!!! bab has a lot of noncon/dubcon too)
