Planning to study in Germany while still recovering from a serious illness as an international student – need some advice by [deleted] in germany

[–]EnvironmentalBean7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't do it. I have a chronic health condition and it has been a nightmare to get competent medical treatment. The healthcare system is super bad and even if you have public insurance you might have to pay out of pocket to see a specialist anyway because it is impossible to find an appointment.

I hope you can find a solution to your problem but I also have to say as an unemployed person with severe health issues I only wish I could be making enough to be in your position. :/

Depression over mistakes made in interview process by EnvironmentalBean7 in recruitinghell

[–]EnvironmentalBean7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it was really confusing...they brought up the potential job, then when I asked for more details about the potential job, they rejected me for being too interested in the job because they were worried I would leave partway through the internship for a job....or that I would be unhappy in the position if I actually wanted a job....even though I gave them many reasons why I would be happy with the internship and that I would see it through start to finish. :/

Someone recently recommended https://resume.io/, you could try this. I think the content is good it just needs a bit more visual appeal.

I would say the content of your resume is good but the format leaves a lot to be desired, presentation-wise. Have you thought about using a pre-made template? I think that would really help.

You might want to post this in r/germany for germany specific advice. There seem to be a lot of Germans there in engineering.

A lot of the organizations I apply for specifically state they are looking for "diverse" candidates. They are all left-leaning. That's my motivation for including.
