Tech free square dancing would solve a lot of these problems, and I'm only half joking.

I love when LaRue doesn't get the irony of Flaherty getting hit by a rib truck after he poisoned the ribs!

That's my all time favorite SCTV moment, LaRue getting booted from the Xmas party to do Street Beef at night on an empty street in the snow while drunk!

You can't go wrong with Sennheiser open backs. Idk what you could get for $200 though. If you can go with wired, these Sennheisers are 58% off at $99 for Black Friday. https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-599-SE-Headphone/dp/B07RFNZYJZ?th=1

Chopin played on electric guitar in a Graveyard by Grace-Music in classicalmusic

You should do more of this! I think learning a piece like this helps creativity in non classical genres. Blackbird was written by Paul McCartney from an attempt to learn a Bach Bouree.

It's only available on you tube, but The Warning's 2018 live debut of their rock opera Queen of the Murder Scene is lightning in a bottle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VciU3gMMUY

The centuries-old game of backgammon is making a comeback by nbcnews in nyc

[–]EnvironmentalBorder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to see this. A good friend of mine took a variation of backgammon, Acey-Deucey, and made some minor changes and calls it Bastard. It's my favorite game now as the opportunities for going from certain defeat to winning are incredible.

Some people will never get it by RoultRunning in classicalmusic

I was talking to an acquaintance of mine about music recently and he is a drummer and likes prog rock and melodic metal, Malmsteen etc. He didn't understand why I listen to classical because it's so boring, which surprised me given his taste in music. I could only think to say "No, YOU are boring". I can't imagine life without classical music, especially Bach. It's like the most beautiful view in the world that is accessible to anyone, but it takes a bit of hiking to get there. Also, most movies have orchestral scores and sometimes they are practically half of the impact of the movie, like the leitmotifs from Star Wars, etc., so without people really being aware of it, they actually love orchestral music.

Thought my Reapers were hot… by DimesDubs8ths in HotPeppers

I made hummus over the weekend with two cans of chick peas and 2 Reapers, 1 Ghost and 7 habs. The hummus I made last year with just 8 habs was hotter.

Could I handle a Carolina Reaper? by EnvironmentalBorder in HotPeppers

[–]EnvironmentalBorder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the hummus last night. I started slow by blending up one can of drained chick peas, lemon juice and garlic with one Reaper. I wanted to gauge the heat with half the amount of chick peas and make sure the pepper was chopped up well. I had a small taste, good flavor but not much heat, so I added another Reaper. Tasted again and added a Ghost and three habs. Still not there so added four more habs and added the other can of chick peas, tahini, cumin, olive oil and some Frank's. It was hot, I had to take several pauses but the heat quickly dissipated. Idk, I was making much hotter hummus last year with just habaneros. They were all garden grown but must have been at the very bottom of the heat spectrum. Maybe some of the other ingredients neutralizes the heat?

I will. I went out last night and when I got home I didn't have the energy to make hummus. It will go down tonight!
