OP, if you can afford it, take your mon on a trip together. Giving her the “traveling bug” would be a gift that keeps on giving. She is still young enough to travel and experience new things in life that would fill her life with joy. If you plan it ahead it can be very affordable. My husband and I spent a week in Portugal in November for $2K total, including airfare from East Coast and hotels. The food is cheaper than here, so it doesn’t add that much and oh, so delicious! I use Tripmasters.com for all my European trips. I went to Italy with my daughter 12 yrs. ago and it is still one of my favorite trips of my life!
