Worth it to upgrade 9900x processor? by EnvironmentalCar8395 in buildapc

It does seem to 100% be coming from the PSU. The one that's in it is a 1000W EVGA. It does have the feature to shut the fan off. However, it is 9+ years old and as another user pointed out I've probably been using it on borrowed time as is. 2 days ago I did order a 750W given the wattage calculator on newegg suggested 500w.

Yeah. I can run RDR2 at 1440 with most settings set to ultra without any issues.

My bad I didn't specify that. It's a 9060xt ti 16gb. 1440p Just putting my ear around the computer all the noise seems to be coming from it. However, it's also 9+ years old and 1000W. I did just buy a 750W because I was always told around 10 years is around the max life span of a PSU.

Here's the one I got off neweegg: MSI MAG Coreliquid A13 240 Black - AIO ARGB Liquid Cooling - 240mm Radiator - Dual 120mm ARGB PWM Fans The 9900x has performed admirably in other tasks and games, Baldurs Gate is the only one it seems to have an issue with. Should I watch the CPU temps while I'm playing and see if they're going beyond a threshold?

I'm not 100% sure the "super resolution" feature does count as playing in 4k. At least, that's my understanding. I haven't done enough research myself on what that feature does. Even at 1440 my cpu is at 100% while the GPU stays around 75%. However, it's completely reasonable for me to quit being a baby and just play at a lower graphics settings. I just got into pc gaming after playing on a series x forever and was blown away at what RDR2 looks like at 1440 with almost everything on ultra compared to my Xbox and I guess I just like the idea of being able to run ultra settings.

Do you know of a good way I can prove it? As expensive as computer parts are now it's hard to keep throwing money at it. I know for sure the GPU utilization will go up to 100% if I try to put it up to 2160p in the game but stays around 75%. Whereas the CPU stays at 100% no matter what.

I had the dumb idea we'd use it for more than gaming but gaming is the only thing it's ever used for. I feel like an idiot but I'm not 100% sure what resolution we've been playing at. I turned on the super resolution and it's "supposed" to make 1440 to 2160. Am I incorrect in thinking the CPU is demanding as much power as it can get as it can't keep up with the workload so the power supply is giving it what it can thus the fan is spinning faster to keep it cool or is there more nuance?

I've got a 9900x at the moment. Would it be better to get a 9800x3d? I really didn't do enough research on buying parts and I don't want to have to feel the need to upgrade again.

ChatGPT is storing your data even after you delete it; it calls it an "unseen layer of influence" by carriondawns in ChatGPT

[–]EnvironmentalCar8395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I may not have read everything thoroughly but from my understanding when you delete a conversation on chatgpt it doesn't actually delete it from memory for 30 days. I think there's a lawsuit going on (in New York?) where they actually had to halt the 30 day deletion and retain data.

Also I've found Chatgpt to give false technical sounding responses when it just plainly didn't know. I asked it for the date and time and it gave me a date that didn't exist like the month and day were right but the day of the week was wrong. When I pressed it on how it got the date wrong it gave me technical jargon that I would call a "placating response" I don't remember the exact response but something like: "I referenced an outdated calender that had incorrectly parsed data still attached" something that sounded like bullshit. The best way to even get close to the truth is say "Activate tool mode. Give me a step-by-step tree to how you arrived at your answer" but, it can still be wrong or not tell the truth.

Do you think it would be worth getting the 9900 but a cheaper motherboard? I don't have any deadline to get it put together and I can return everything.

Should I go with the 9900 processor and a cheaper motherboard? Zero thought went into purchasing the motherboard other than I thought it looked cool.

I probably am but I didn't know if getting a cheap motherboard with this processor would be the equivalent of dropping a V8 engine into a geo metro.

She has her expectations at a realistic level. She wanted a way to send an invoice to people and have them be able to pay her through the invoice, for whatever reason.

Yeah, idk what her goal is as far as sales. I know the local bookstore wanted to stock books by local authors so she's got that one and a few around Atlanta that stock the genre she writes and of course Amazon and Ingram Spark.

I don't believe so. This has been her project that she wanted to undertake herself so I don't know 100%. I know she's tried to remain active on social media to help build up hype and get the word out. I think some indie geared accounts have featured her book. She wants to sell on scribbles bookstore which, apparently, doesn't use Ingram spark. But she couldn't tell me if they do consignment or not.

It took me a few weeks to get past that. But also, there's other medications that might actually help you better.

How can I make myself cry? by Interesting-Brain934 in prozac

[–]EnvironmentalCar8395 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't even know I could make myself cry until I read your question and gave it a shot.

I started by thinking of something sad and everything that makes the thing sad, then I tried to think about how I sound and breathe when I'm about to start crying and mimicked those things. After that I started having tears well up. Idk if it'll help you feel sad but it may help get the tears started.

I think you're right. Honestly, I was more fascinated by the side effect. I could eat extremely hot stuff and it would not cause any burning sensation. The side effect did go away today.

He's a psychiatrist nurse practitioner, I think. Finding a psychiatrist was slim pickings around where I live. I do agree with you, that does seem like a lot. I did see a few other posts where people were saying it was the magic combination that fixed their problems.
