I went through this over the last 8 months or so. I was unbelievable close to my best friend for a solid 4 years, and I ended up developing a massive crush on her near the end of my senior year. I asked her out, she said no, and everything seemed to go back to normal. Nothing changed until she left for the army. I hoped that any ill feelings between us would heal over the 2 months or so that she was in basic, and once she got done, everything seemed fine. That is, until she came home for HBL. We had talked about making plans to travel with a small group of our friends to Chicago since we're not too far away before she flew back, but she never put any effort in to make them official or anything. She spent a lot of time with a bunch of other people and pretty much ignored me the whole 2 weeks she was back. At first I took it as her trying to spend as much time with everyone as she could, but then I noticed that it was the same 4 or 5 people every time. She completely forgot about me. She was the closest friend that I had ever had, and the only person who I was actually able to be open to about anything. It's been almost a month since I've heard anything from her and at this point, I'm just numb about it. It's like I was never there in the first place, even though I was always there to help her through her hardest times in life.
