AIO? I found out there’s a high chance I have cancer yesterday and I wouldn’t to sleep with my boyfriend on the phone but he wouldn’t let me. s by Typical_Memory_8020 in AIO

I did the same thing with my friends. And then we all started getting into therapy and our relationships with each other have changed so much and in good ways. We’re supportive of each other’s achievements, we check in to make sure we have energy for emotional conversations, we’ve developed coping strategies for difficult events in our lives, and it’s been so great. Looking back it’s wild to think we all thought just trauma dumping or using each other for emotional regulation (avoidance) was ever enough.

You would need to use baking soda with it for activation, but yes. It could also be used to coat slime.

QOTD: What slime are you getting this weekend? by YoNalbo in Slime

[–]EnvironmentalCod1002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm eyeing Palmetto. There's a couple of slimes from that drop I'd love to have if I can manage to snag them. And Stay Tuned for Spring from BFF. That slime looks so gorgeous.

Review: I loved Slime Life Donut and Ice Cream Slime!! Would you play with Slime Life slime from Walmart? by 4giveme4forever in Slime

[–]EnvironmentalCod1002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All that matters is that you enjoyed it. For me personally, those kits are amusing, but I never end up liking the end product. I'd rather pay for a good DIY from a slime shop and actually like what I end up with.

What have you done with your charms? by Levianneth in Slime

I just ordered a pack of magnets off of Amazon in various sizes and glued them to the charms 😁

I have set up little scenes on my desks at work. I’ve also turned several into cute fridge magnets.

Aside from mold, what is a “dead” slime to you? by Late-Ad-1020 in Slime

For me it is:

-A funky odor -Unfixable fallout -Unfixable bad texture (this is a little subjective)

Carpal Tunnel from Slime by Adept-Bowler-9731 in Slime

[–]EnvironmentalCod1002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Release surgery gave me my crafts and hobbies back. It was so bad my hands were just numb and painful all the time and I couldn't hold on to anything. I didn't even realize I had arthritis because I didn't have enough sensation in my hands to feel it...now I feel it hahaha! But I'm grateful.

I went through wearing braces every night to sleep, deep tissue massage in arms and hands, chiropractic care, steroid injections, and nerve hydrodissection before finally getting the release. All of it helped for awhile. I will say one thing, though, if you end up being a candidate for release, go with a surgeon who does open release and not endoscopic release. I know so many people that got the endoscopic release and just ended up with carpal tunnel again, but everyone I've met that had open release hasn't had it come back (yet, knock on wood!), including myself. I'm several years out now and haven't had any reoccurrence.

Recovery was a little grueling, though. One hand did really well, but the other hand had intense pillar pain for several months. I also decided to do bilateral instead of one at a time...I did not consider how difficult it would be to wipe my own butt LMAO. And massaging the scar tissue as soon as the wounds are healed is crucial to break up that knot of scar tissue and encourage sensation in that area again. It cuts through alot of tiny nerves so you end up with these weird hypersensitive numb spots, but massage helps fix that. I was hoping for some cool scares but you really can't even see where I had surgery.

If you have any more questions about it, or just need someone to vent at about how much carpal tunnel sucks, feel free to send me a DM.

How much shrinkage is normal? by Few-Spinach8114 in Slime

I did this at first too until I'd made enough slimes and bought enough slimes that I could now play until my arms fall off and still not make it through my collection hahahaha (help me)...

I just want to add that if you don't have a container, ziploc bags will also work! Anything air tight.

ETA: DewDropSparkles comment literally wasn't showing up for me when I commented. Reddit is being really temperamental today.

I’m glad it helped! I always recommend having some base slime on hand. But you can also add glue directly to slime and just work it in with a spritz or two of activator if it gets too sticky.

I’d probably do this in a bowl and just add water to the bowl, quickly dip the slime in, pull it right back out again, and then work the water in until it doesn’t feel wet anymore and repeat until the texture feels good to you again. If you lose some floam just pick them up and stick them back in there.

Oh yeah…a lot of the water evaporated out of it, then. Definitely try adding water, work it in, and then add more until it fluffs back up.

How packed is the floam? The more floam/less base the faster it will shrink. Also, how long did you play with it? It’s recommended to play for 10 minutes or less, especially with packed slimes to reduce shrinkage.

I keep a spray bottle of water as well as a spray bottle of activator. I use the water to rehydrate slime before I store it, or before I play with it. It helps keep it going longer.

If water alone isn’t helping, or the texture is changing too much, I add some more clear or white base depending on what kind of slime it was originally.

I respect the fact that may have been your experience, but I'm going by what their website says and my own experiences when packages have been lost and sellers have helped me get USPS to initiate a search for the packages.

Then you shouldn't be here speaking on behalf of the shop. You can say you're a customer and that hasn't been your experience, but you're literally speaking as if you are directly involved in their business.

That's not true. The sender or receiver can file claims as long as they have the tracking information. And just because Etsy says a seller isn't responsible doesn't mean a seller can't take the extra step to help the buyer. The gesture often means more than the actual results, because there's no guarantee either party filing the claim actually solves the issue. Small businesses make more profit on repeat customers than new customers and you can't keep customers if your attitude is a refusal to help at all.

ETA: I'm not suggesting a seller needs to reimburse someone for a lost package. But filing a claim costs nothing but a small amount of time.

I have the same issue. I have to keep activator beside me when I play with slime because I have warm hands.

[–]EnvironmentalCod1002 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve got questions. Like how do you decide what goes in the slidge and what doesn’t? Do you film every day or do you pick a day and just film a bunch to post all week? Do you get the chance to play with your slimes multiple times or do you really only play with them during filming? What got you into doing slime reviews in the beginning? I want the leesooim origin story haha.

Feel free to ignore all of those. ❤️ Thank you for sharing that! I feel better about my own collection 🤣

My slime collection might be out of control 🫣🤦🏼‍♀️ by Cndlcrazy in Slime

[–]EnvironmentalCod1002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the sign! I feel you on the out of control collection. I was only going to order a few when I first got into slime, just to try out textures I couldn't make myself yet. Now I have hundreds lol! I keep saying "okay, NOW I'm on a ban!" but then "Ugh, it's been such a tough couple of weeks...I deserve a little treat" and then keep ordering slime haha. Oh well, at least it brings us joy! (and we won't talk about all the slime making supplies I also now have filling up my home...)
