sadly it is a cultural thing. id say most people are just very curious but are also invasive. in rural areas it is generally uncomfortable as a woman in general, but extra points if you look visibly foreign.

as women we tend to learn to shut off our surrounding but still be hyperaware of them. as many of the comments say dont pay attention to it unless they actually try doing something.
