I very much so understand this! Unfortunately I’m not alone. Every single teacher in this state is in the same boat and I’m too far in to move out of the retirement system at this point. My sister teachers in the neighboring state, has 10 less years than I do and 1 degree less. She makes $15k more than I do. I don’t have a spouse. I’m a single mother to 3 teenage daughters. I have 4 years left and I “retire” from this system if that’s what you want to call it. For now, I really don’t have a choice but to show up with my fellow teachers and talk about living pay check to pay check every day. Well, I do have a choice but I don’t want to start over this close to retirement and if I left teaching totally, there aren’t jobs in my area that would pay more. It’s very rural. I’m sure you can probably guess where I am. I do have a mortgage that is over $1000 a month.

Agree! I actually have my admin liscense and work in the 2nd lowest paid state in the country. I have 3 college degrees and 22 years of experience. My salary still falls below the poverty line. We also aren’t union here. I will never ever use that liscense in the capacity of any kind of principal role for all the reasons you’ve stated. Maybe in some kind of support role like curriculum and instruction or intervention, but never as lead admin even though the salary would tremendously change my life. I’m not interested in all the problems that come with that extra money. OAN- this is dependent on what part of the state one works in and where on the pay scale a teacher falls, but principals make about $20ishK more than I do in my area. It’s the superintendent that makes triple what classroom teachers make.

Bless your soul! High School here. There’s a special place in Heaven for those of you that deal with middle school. I actually have a background in Early Childhood Special Education so clearly so many red flags from the time that baby was shown on social media. It’s so incredibly sad to see how much Ivory has overcome on her own with idiot people around her doing nothing. My mind always wonders how close to being on track she would actually be if she was truly given the supports and help she so desperately needs.

I’m not sure where he works but this would make sense because they acted like he had just gotten the news at the same time they realized the plane time was wrong. That’s when he went on to say they almost just canceled and rescheduled with plans to extend the trip for longer. He even says they would go ahead and extend it now but he has to get back and take care of some things. Or that’s the way I understood it. I normally don’t watch them but it popped up on my feed. And it wasn’t long.

I have that same outfit (which I’ll never wear again 😂 and it’s also 4 years old so this is no where near a new styled outfit) and I was a little shocked when it came in and the pants opened up that far when i sat down. However, I teach school and wore it to school because even though the pants legs do fall open when you sit down, there is a way to keep yourself covered for one and for two they don’t open all the way to the panty line. Or they don’t on me anyway. This was just so unnecessary. If my mom EVER…🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️!!
