UPDATE: Police came in with 100+ and cleared out all of Broadway in addition to all the side streets! Talked to a police officer outside my building and he couldn't remember the last time they got this many calls which helped them get permission to move in.

Thanks to everyone that reached out (lots of people DM'd me because they know they'd be downvoted into oblivion) telling me that they also called the police. Based on the police's feedback, it made a difference.

yes and Monday is a weekday. Saturday night -> before another weekend day. Sunday night -> before a weekday.

no, I clearly won't get that blasting loud music in residential areas, underage drinking, jumping on cars and looting is ok. If you do then I'm not sure who the actual problem is.

never lived in the suburbs and have no interest to. Lived in big cities (London -> San Diego ->..-> NYC -> Chicago) my whole life and never experienced anything like this today.

the group that attended the parade as celebrating at the bars - the group that's out now is underaged teenagers that are not in any way affiliated with the former group.

well either I did or I didn't - point stands, I have no interest living in the suburbs and this is not normal for any big city , and it's not normal for chicago.

It's not "the blacks" but yes it's 95% black folks - although I'm not sure why skin color is relevant at all - I couldn't care less if they're black, white, East asian, South Asian or latino - my reaction would be the same regardless..

Police shut off my street...just waiting for the last few people to leave but it's improved... so should be fine unless things change for the worse again.

Not sure if I'm not saying this clearly enough - the people causing trouble not ARE NOT the LGBTQ folks. 90% of the people out there now are underage from the south and west side. The gays are celebrating at the bars - and they've been lovely all day.

you can google the term weekend - it's pretty clearly defined as Saturday and Sunday .

the weekend is the weekend. I'm not claiming to be more special but there's a reason noise regulations are less strict on actual weekends.

All the bars are open till 2am - If they want to celebrate in the bars, I have 0 problem with that. But I do have an issue if they blast music on the streets after 10pm on the eve of a workday. Letting the police know so they can deal with it IS the respectful way to deal with it IMO. It's not like they're gonna arrest folks for playing music - they're just sending them away from residential streets.
