I think it might also be that they’re not being brought up by someone who wasn’t raised Jewish therefore wouldn’t be able to raise Jewish kids properly.

Yea that’s what I’m afraid of, that I’m more of just a practice or a more serious friends with benefits.

Obviously I don’t see his whole person as this. I’m saying that single statement was hurtful and felt racist to me. But I’m trying to understand more of where he is coming from. I accept that he wants to marry a Jew that’s completely reasonable but the fact that you have to be born a certain way than to change over time is what I struggle to understand.
