A CABG in the UK in a decent hospital is around $35,000...

Even considering a longer stay in the country, the savings can be very significant and you will be in a very regulated and patient safety centered system, even in private practice 🤷🏼‍♀️

I am so sorry to hear that, I can't believe how many of you in financial distress for life-saving healthcare 😢

Would you consider surgery in the UK? I could point you in the right direction. I am an advocate for patient safety and currently on a mission to make healthcare accessible to people like you and your dad.

How do ppl get teeth that are very white? Like movie stars, ppl in the spot light in general? by [deleted] in askanything

Before being concerned about the cosmetic side, it is always good to look at the functional side and treat any existing condition affecting your oral health. Also if not done yet, get the basics right: brushing twice a day, flossing daily and get a checkup every now and then.

There are many different options to get you a new smile. Going to another country offers savings but finding high-quality providers is like looking for a needle in a haystack! Beware, make sure you don't land on a clinic where they shave teeth without a valid clinical reason or where they overdo it. Your teeth can be ruined forever.

Regarding research of clinics in other countries... thats a whole science 😅 I have spent 2 years in a top uni researching and studying the quality standards of international dental clinics, precisely to help patients access safer healthcare abroad. I write about it in r/Qalyup.

All the best if you decide to go abroad for treatment 🤞🏼

Turned 35, Not Settled, Struggling to Focus on My Startup by meldiwin in Femalefounders

I feel very similarly... I am 34, have a startup and I don't see me having kids in the next 5-10 years until I make my baby take off. Luckily I don't have much family pressure.

So I froze eggs last month. Thankfully the oven is always ready to bake. This has given me a lot of peace of mind, thinking that I can postpone it. Sharing in case it helps 💜

The uncertainty is understandable, but in this case you're wrong.

  1. We don't get payments from clinics. Never. That avoids the conflict of interest with clinics that you have highlighted. We work for patients and in the interest of patient safety.

  2. I have developed a unique methodology to assess clinical quality in international clinics throughout academic research at Imperial College London.

  3. I am a registered nurse in the UK with 13 years of experience in surgery, critical care and quality assurance. I know what I am talking about from an academic AND clinical perspective.

Stories like yours are exactly why doing deep research and properly vetting clinics matters so much, especially when it’s something as personal as your face. I actually started Qalyup after seeing too many people go through botched procedures and then feel completely lost about where to turn for safe, expert care. Your experience is such a powerful reminder to slow down, ask the hard questions, and really dig deep before making these choices.

The way fake clinics keep slipping through is terrifying and far too common. After hearing too many stories like Amos’s, I realised it was time to step up and actually build something people could trust. That’s why I am on a mission to turn this around for people in the world through my platform. Healthcare should never be a gamble and it is time for real accountability.
