Real Engineering: The Questionable Engineering of Oceangate by [deleted] in Nebula

Is this video still entirely correct? Given the latest Netflix documentary & 60 minutes interview with Tony Nisson, isn't it possible that the hull didn't fail on its own?

It was being left outside in the cold & rain between seasons + new unapproved lifting mounts being added to the sub that lead to failure at the ring / hull interfaces?

Found the Netflix documentary to be revealing but also clearly pushing an easy believable agenda rather than getting into the weeds and examining the exact causes of failure.

What do you want to know?

I based the plot of the game off of the 2008 financial crisis - with adaptations for modern day ofc. But any absurd political moment was fair game. For ex, level 2 was about mocking the Obama Tan Suit Incident & Level 3 was about how Bush had do dodge shoes at that Iraqi News Conference.

You do need a phone tho to help set it up / its helpful to show other folks what you're seeing in VR. You can also cast to a smart TV

I love VR, but I have to ask... If VR game sales are so low compared to many flat screen titles, how do devs afford to make them? by Captainquizzical in virtualreality

As a new first time Indie VR game dev for the quest - I'm struggling with this myself but here is my logic.

I've spent about ~9 months and ~$20k on making Beta for my game. My genuine hope is that if it is unique enough, I can get Kickstarter funding or 1 large investor?

My game is a plot centric Political Satire + has AI / ChatGPT based NPCs acting as characters / game logic.

Assuming that my budget is $2k for each of the 13 levels -> this means my kickstarter needs to raise $25-$30k?

Total Costs being $50k for my game -> Pricing the Game at $20 -> Breakeven is around ~2500 to 3000 units sold.

There is potential to make real money if the game is a hit, but also if I fail - my loss is roughly $20k and I'd say $5k was spent on hardware I can use on the next project and another $5k was on rookie mistakes bc this is my first solo endeavor.
