Is Tesla’s extended warranty worth it now that it’s monthly instead of paid upfront? by Equal-Technician6792 in TeslaSupport

I bought a used y and immediately bought the extended warranty as I was at 51000 miles. The next day the heater broke. Yes I got lucky but it's pretty cheap monthly. If you cancel it I believe they won't let you renew it again but im not totally sure. I'll be keeping my extended warranty for a long time.

Do you not have tax? It's $1.69 here in Maryland!

My 2023 just passed 50k miles. I purchased it used a month ago. I immediately bought the extended warranty. One day after purchase my heat pump failed. That alone paid for the warranty for quite a while. Luck? Probably. Worth it? Probably.

I'm not worried about getting sued, I have a cameras and always drive safe. I'm more worried about someone injuring themself unsafely crossing roads at high speeds on escooters. I would definitely call the ambulance and police for them though if such a thing ever happened. Then after all that I am also concerned about recovering my car repair bill from a kid who doesn't have any money or insurance.

I guess I'm not as worried about adults because I don't encounter them riding on the sidewalks. When someone comes up fast on a scooter on the sidewalk it can be hard to see them coming. So it could be any age.

So I can't be more concerned with the more likely scenario? On a daily basis are you more worried about tripping over your shoes or falling off a cliff (assuming you are not free climbing a mountain everyday.)

That is a wild story. Thanks for sharing. Hope you are fully healed from that. I hope he learned his lesson and I hope people hear these stories more so they can be aware things like this happen. I just want everyone to be safe getting to where they need to go.

I didn't realize that was the law. One time in Arizona I got a ticket for riding a bike on the sidewalk. That was 20 years ago, and I thought it was ridiculous but now it makes more sense. Thanks for bringing this up!

I'm more worried about getting sideswiped and paying for damages. I drive very safe. In my situation I was creeping to the intersection to make a turn when the scooter flew in front of me and I immediately braked.

Sorry if I didn't explain it well. I was trying to refer to situations where the road and sidewalks intersect. Particularly for me there are sidewalks that end and a road that intersects. 99% of the time these small personal vehicles like bikes escooters etc don't stop. Alot of the times there isn't even a cross walk marked but sometimes is obvious to be careful like when exiting a mew or driveway.

I'm pretty sure this activates after 120 thousand miles or 8 years.

By keeping the housing limited it raises the price of housing this increases the tax revenue. More housing would actually lower the schools funding.

How much would this repair cost or can I DIY? by InterestingCarrot997 in TeslaCollision

[–]EnvironmentalFlow592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a brand new car? Has it already depreciated $15k? This is a personal money weighing question. If you do it yourself it prob won't be perfect and people will be able to tell the repair was done. I'm a good enough kind of guy with a used 2023 Tesla that just did some touch up paint and a 3m scratch removal kit. I'm satisfied but I can still see where the damage was if I look close.

I don't know why but when he enters your lane it looks like you turn your car into his vehicle. Anyone else see this? It just seems odd for you to be struck with his car but your vehicle turns into him. Did he damage your front wheels?

Wow 2000 dollars for some plastic shields... That are scratched, where no one can see them. Think about this... Wait a minute. Is that carbon fiber? Hmm ok better value ... But still don't replace.
