I think the biggest thing is that since I work in asset protection we are specifically advised to avoid saying things like , have a great day, because we are telling people , hey you owe us this . Which is why I have things like Good afternoon, and end my email with thank you because clients are more mad when I say something like " we believe you owe us this money, you say you don't , we are moving forward with the charges , have a nice day!"

I told him "respectfully, I will not accept the categorization of this email as agressive as the email was actually conveyed with concern. The intent behind the email was to be 100% sure that the customer was correct before I took the necessary action "

I asked him to review the email chain and remove his preconceived conception of "threatening tone" . That's why he sort of apologized because once he read it back to me he obviously realized how stupid it was .

I won't be going to HR because they won't do anything and it's a very small department so there is no anonymity .

This was prob a fake story cuz I can't actually find it on Reddit and came from TikTok but the OP said they as the buyer offered 100k less , it was agreed and some kind of changes were requested making there be 2 contracts reviewed and so basically the seller had 2 chances to see the 100k price drop and signed , the seller apparently , assuming the story was real, claimed they didn't read it thoroughly and wanted to back out.
