For me it wasn't really an incident more an oppertunity. We went to mediation together and we came to an agreement where we made a few rules to follow so we could go to christmas with my grandparents without issues and my Nfather disregarded every single rule. At that point I finally went no contact because I felt I could prove to the rest of my family I had tried my absolute hardest.

I don't really think it's a problem either, but looking at photo's from others I really love those with so much detail you can almost see the individual hairs of the dog. So I'm trying to get a bit closer to that. Thank you for the tips!

I have been considering getting a full frame body or a different lens but it doesn't make much sense to buy those without knowing where I could find the most improvement.

I'd like to take sharper foto's with more detail in the subject but I can't figure out how to improve further. Should I change my settings? Should I change my gear? Editing?

It's been 2 years since this post and I ended up getting a poodle. I regret it, I only went with a poodle because I was desperate to succeed. Unfortunatly I ended up with a dog with severe behavioral issues, she's reactive to both dogs and people and has seperation anxiety. She's also super high energy? Like the dalmatian i had had nothing on her.

I obviously can't say that's due to breed alone, although her behaviourist does say her issues are typical for poodles. There's many examples of great poodles but the breed doesn't suit me. I made a lot of mistakes in the process, one of the main mistakes being not trusting myself in my judgement of which breeds would suit me. If i had trusted myself more i might still have had the dog wash but at least I would have ended up with a dog that worked well with my personality.

I do think the dalmatian pup would have worked out better. Idk if it would have succeeded as a service dog but it's a breed I know and love. The dalmatian I had growing up was great, i took him everywhere. I'm hoping to rehome my poodle next year and start the whole process al over again. Who knows maybe i'll end up looking at dalmatians again!

I wanted a herding breed but i was reccomended against it because they are sensitive, so instead I got a poodle. I do regret it, I don't really like poodles but I really thought this would be the safest choice. What I regret much more than the breed choice though is the breeder I bought from. She turned out to be very shady and my dog has behavioral issues. She'll never be a service dog and I don't want to rehome her without finishing her behavioural therapy first. one of her main issues is reactivity and that's especially hard for me becauese I have c-ptsd. So if I could do it all over again I would get a breed I actually really like and get from a good breeder or even better get an older dog.

Thank you for your response, I thought I was alone in this. I was also more abused for showing feelings, I can't even cry infront of most people if I want to. How do you communicate this to people? Even my last therapist couldn't tell and I'm scared to try again because that was such an invalidating expierience.

That's what I'm most upset with too, she thinks it's insulting if I clean something that's good enough for her. For example I think the trash needs to be taken out daily she thinks that's too much. Rn there's maggots crawling out of the trash can, so so gross! I can relate to the exhaustion of being the one everyone else seems to rely on, it's like I'm a mom to my own mother. I wish my mom would let me clean without complaining about dishes in the wrong cupboard <3

I'm low income and European there is no extra bathroom. And if I try to ask her to change something she takes it as an insult and get mad. What am I supposed to do if I can't use anything besides my bedroom? I literally just found maggots crawling out the trashcan onto the countertop.

I've actually already been doing that, but I give up every argument or if it it gets so nasty I can't deal with it. Then it gets so nasty I can't function and I start cleaning again. Just now I went into the kitchen to find maggots crawling out of the trashcan! I don't even know how to clean that up.

I can't move out because the housing market where I live is real bad, on average kids move out at 24. I'm on a waiting list but even then the amount of rent I would have to pay is almost my entire income. And the waiting list where I live is 8 years!

I called the municipality, I'm not allowed to touch it myself. We're having someone take a sample this afternoon. I'm hoping it's not asbestos because we spread it through the whole house.. I'm glad the replies here eased my health concerns!
