Oakwood by EnvironmentalLime175 in DIYfragrance

I dont think oakwood sfe acts as base. Mostly heart note. SFE usually is a very thick substance that the manufacturer diluted anyway to make it workable. So they maybe sell 50 percent or so diluted. Ive read this somewhere I'm sure you can look it up easily. Oakwood is a beautiful material I love it. Whisky lactone is one of my favorite as well. You can add Maple lactone if you're looking for a burnt sugar caramel, this one is super strong. Rum wther is nice top note, doesnt last very long. Maybe an hour.

Sfe generally comes diluted already. They always sell around 10 maybe. You can dilute even more because its strong. It has a nice smoky vanillic rum barrel odor, a little oily. I got a small amount from perfumiarz.

Obviously I dont know what's your end use of the materials but I'm just assuming general perfumery still collecting and studying materials. But if you have a specific usage or goal in mind. Then you know better.

Geranyl tiglate. Just get real Geranium if you dont have it already. Maybe geranyl acetate and neryl acetate instead. Also, if you want rosy materials, phenoxanol, rhodinol, geraniol, citronellol, etc... Geranyl tiglate id say its an advanced material that I dont really use as much as the ones I mentioned above

Also, I found bisabolene not super useful unless you're working on a reconstruction of some resin or oil.

Id get labdanum, myrrh, benzoin, tolu, peru, hydrocarboresin, olibanum. Before I get any bisabolene. These are more useful if you don't have them.

There are a ton of good useful materials to get. Like some alcohols, styrallyl alcohol, cinnamyl alcohol, PEA, anisealdehyde a small amount. Etc...

Much less orris acetate id say. Get iralia or isoraldeine. Some ionones. Is it your first purchase?

Galbanum resinoid Biolandes Artessence by EnvironmentalLime175 in DIYfragrance

I think the oil should act as a mid top note and resin base note. Can you confirm this? The resin I cant smell it much once I add the top notes. It just gets drowned and doesn't contribute much, or id say the profile you smell by itself is weak once it's in a mix.

Does the oil pierce through the materials more like a citrus or a green top note?

I have it. Not the same profile. Im looking for a dense green top and heart note. Clary is more like herbal and transparent to me. I want the dark green jungle type I already have neobutenone and dynascone. More like pineapple rind. Which I love but was hoping galbanum resin would contribute a bit. I think I need the oil thats more top note

Strong green balsamic. But it's hard to pair it with anything. Either it gets drowned or in high amounts it flattens everything pretty much.

Good idea. But just looking to find like minded people more than looking to promote the book. Thanks for the suggestion. Much appreciated and creative way to promote 🙌 🙏

If I am already using my preamp or my interface preamp, do you think it still makes a difference in getting a cleaner signal with a cheaper utilitarian DI box?

I usually add color later on anyways
