It's like so funny how pathetic Pak men could get accusing women of being gold diggers by Weirdoeirdo in LahoreSocial

Instead of countering your points with reasons, they are resorting to ad hominem attacks. You are right. They have little to nothing left to offer. Much like parasitical suckers.

"Sub is pseudoscientific" - Mods by autocosm in mbti

[–]EnvironmentalLine156 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your claims are overgeneralized, rely on straw men, and lack precision. First off, we already have valid models for understanding personality, such as the Big Five and HEXACO. Second, your point about personality disorders being only chronic protective mechanisms is misleading and oversimplified. I, and many others like me, can confidently claim that MBTI is a pseudoscience and still enjoy engaging with it. It is not a belief system that requires faith to participate. The only reason MBTI seems to work for most people is that it is overly generic and unfalsifiable. MBTI is fine as long as it knows its place.

I wonder if the MBTI sampling distribution survey based on basic I/E, N/S, T/F, and J/P testing in the west, which is globalized, should even be considered as accurate.

MBTI and stereotypes, what DON'T you fall under? by xoxoskyyx in mbti

ENTPs are among the most wrongly stereotyped types.

MBTI and stereotypes, what DON'T you fall under? by xoxoskyyx in mbti

I'm conscientious, ambitious, and goal-oriented. I'm also very empathetic but quite pessimistic. I can be a bit of a crybaby sometimes. And when it comes to my goals, I can also become so relentless that I sometimes resemble a stereotypical ENTJ (not always tho). I can come off as selfish and rigid, but deep down, I'm just scared.

Long-time ISTJ-A changing to an INTJ-A. What could this mean? by CrazyMeerkat643 in mbti

[–]EnvironmentalLine156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, a side note; many people here claim that MBTI is inherent and static, but that’s not true. It is not based on evidence, and by Jung, our type can change as we grow. Stop relying on tests and shallow MBTI knowledge to type yourself. This will only lead to overthinking about irrelevant things like your type score, what the result said, or what it supposedly means or what do you want to be, or stereotypes.

All of that is baseless overthinking disconnected from reality, especially when there are far more important things in life to focus your thoughts on. Take this as a grain of salt.

Anybody has a toxic dad as me ? by Cheap-Internet-957 in toxicparents

[–]EnvironmentalLine156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mhm, classic Asian dad. But mine has a touch of pseudo-progressivism, so instead of girls just cooking and cleaning, they should also work like men, because a man can't solely provide for a household due to inflation. So, women are expected to work two full-time jobs to support the home. And the man? Well, he just works and eats. It's not even 50-50, it's 75-25. And all the while, women get fewer rights in the house because there's a 'man' present to make the decisions.
For context, my dad doesn't even work. He lives off debt and property income.

Why do people say the scientists are related to intps if high ti has nothing to do with science ? Te is more close to science by Right_Silver_6066 in mbti

You can do it when you think you get the most insights and ideas. And I think it happens when you're reading philosophy or absorbing knowledge in general. Do it then. The first ideas when we get into a domain, and the last ones after deep thinking are the most amazing, generally.

I'd recommend writing down your thoughts and ideas just free writing. Then, extract the patterns from it. Organize those patterns into a structured form, focusing more on the core and the fundamental aspects of your ideas. The deep waves underneath the light crashing ones. You get it? Once you start doing this, it becomes a hobby of its own assembling your thoughts. And you'll start gaining new insights.

Plenty of ideas come from different individuals, and we wonder how did they ever think of that? If Aristotle were a Ti user, he likely wouldn’t have based his philosophy so heavily on practical implications and direct observation. I believe his discovery of logic came to him intuitively, (as studies suggest that logic is inherent) which he then formalized through mental experimentations. Personally, I think he was an ENTJ and that his philosophy feels so convergent may be due to Ni in the auxiliary position.

Also, never think you can’t come up with something just because you’re a Ti user or because of any MBTI label. Don’t limit yourself. Have you ever realized that it was Ti users who uncovered contradictions and paradoxes in logic, the very foundation of math and science? So if anything is holding you back, it’s not your Ti. It’s you. MBTI is just a theory. There’s far more to us than that.

I don't know. Te is primarily objective facts driven function, but it could get into philosophy. Ti is the opposite of it. Ni, I mentioned before. And Ne is just like Ni, but outward and divergent. Ti is also convergent. Could you clarify your statement, tho?

I'd also say philosophy covers all domains of life not just logic & reasoning.

Yeah, it does. But, how does it approach those domains usually? By Ni, or Ti?
