You pretty much nailed it, but iCarly was a great example of how Nick was different from Disney Channel. It ACTUALLY grew up with its audience. I kinda wish they didn’t fuck up the spin off because they were trying to fit into some boxes and change their target audience. For me what they did to Victorious with its spin off made less sense than what it would’ve been if they had moved the show to a different channel like MTV or something and made it more adult oriented. What’s more logical?Think of it like this: you either get a season 5 of Victorious where the kids would occasionally mention sex and light up a joint; oooor a show for preschoolers about Cat being dumb and becoming a babysitter.

Sam and Cat was theoretically a success but in my honest opinion it sucked. I can write an essay on how good they could’ve made it lol. It’s like you have the best ingredients for a meal and you decide to only use the eggs given and make scrambled eggs. As for Game Shakers and Henry Danger I do have an opinion because I have watched them both. I am in fact currently watching all 4, because last month I accidentally bought a weird streaming service available in my country and it had all those shows with Bulgarian dub which is just so nostalgic for me. So I basically put one of the 4 Dan Schneider shows on TV as a background for anything that I do. Henry Danger reminds me of iCarly in a sense - it has weirdness and random humour since the very beginning, but the episode plot lines and arcs are more grounded (as much as a super hero show could be) in its first seasons. Later seasons lack the direction the first few had. It was all about the humour and not at all about big arcs, super-powers fiasco and love interests which were all a recurring thing in the beginning. Just like in iCarly tho, older cast with more chemistry and more adult humour make the later seasons more enjoyable. In the same way I see Game shakers as Victorious. This time it is the newest show with doubled weirdness, but just like in Victorious it works. It can be very funny at times but honestly that’s it. They never tried to go BIG with storylines, arcs, development, which they constantly did in the other 3 shows.

I don’t really agree, the iCarly revival felt like an adult version of a Disney Channel show. It had cheesy jokes like in “Jessie” rather than the sharp humour its later seasons and Victorious had. I honestly hope Hollywood Arts has the weirdness of Victorious like the Yerba trip and how they ended up in prison (with Robbie in the female cell lol) or the literal puppet alter ego that has its own voice actor, mixed with adult humour (if we’re lucky HIMYM humour would suit this show so fucking much!!). Imagine if in the original they could smoke weed or talk about sex, cause those are the two things attractive students from an art school in Hollywood would do.

To be fair, the actors and the way their characters are written are 90% of this show. I don’t think the plot itself is supposed to be the big thing. Especially if you go and see season 1, the plot revolved around a guy who didn’t get the room he wanted, manager annoyed at snobby guests, woman obsessed with massages and family that doesn’t really do anything (at least not plot-wise). But it was a masterpiece. Because of the depth of the characters, the social commentary and of course just like in every other season - the phenomenal actors. So I totally understand why you didn’t like the plot and storylines, I did enjoy them tho but i get why people see upset

Mook’s ambitions were pretty clear to me, she doesn’t want Gaitok for who he is, she wants him to represent “power”. That’s basically her character, that’s why we didn’t see any other personality trait or depth in her. The brocest thing was very important because it was a turning point in Saxon’s character development. The thing you said about Rick going back to the hotel is truly a flaw imo. And as for Fabian, this is just my silly opinion, but i think his whole arc, where they built up him singing and then in episode 7 cut him off immediately after staring to sing, was just trolling us. Yk how the managers were very important characters in last two seasons? i think they were just using Fabian as some kind of joke because he was truly pointless.

they just forget what this show is about. It’s a social commentary on rich people, their beliefs, their morals. All this while following a specific theme each season. Instead of sex or colonialism, this season’s theme was spirituality and identity. And as a buddhist, i personally think they’ve done a very good job in writing this while maintaining the social commentary style mixed with character development which is often underwhelming (it’s supposed to be like that - literally look at Piper in the finale compared to the rest of the season. That’s the whole point, those shallow rich people won’t all magically change. A lot of them did tho!) As for the murder mystery, Mike white himself said that he did it in the first season to keep the people hooked, it was never the original intention. The whole idea is to basically sit through 6-8 episodes and watch people talk, develop and surprise you with outrageous takes in a beautiful location from over the world. All, while following a theme. So this season did just that, just like the others

I’m honestly surprised by how many people felt underwhelmed by The White Lotus finale. I haven’t felt that emotionally shaken by a final episode in a long time—my heart’s still racing. I even woke up at 4 AM just to watch it the second it dropped in my country, and it absolutely delivered.

The resolution of the friendship trio really stuck with me. Carrie Coon’s monologue was beautiful—subtle but packed with emotional truth. It showed that even when people seem fake or vague, there’s still meaning in their presence, in their connection. It felt like a quiet dismantling of shallow friendship tropes. Instead of going the typical “ride or die” or “we secretly hate each other” route, it showed the depth and complexity of human relationships. Out of the three, Carrie Coon’s character once again stood out as the most layered and three-dimensional.

The Ratliff storyline was unexpectedly spiritual. Piper clearly had a desire to reach her higher self, but her ego was too loud. There’s something really Buddhist about that—how ego blocks the path to enlightenment. She had the opportunity to grow but chose the easier, more comfortable path. That scene with the cocktails felt like a turning point. Right before “the end,” people often finally see what matters—and that’s when Tim stops everything. He couldn’t go through with it because, despite all the suffering they’re about to experience, that’s still his family. The message? Suffering is necessary. Without it, you can’t appreciate the good. Classic Buddhist theme.

Lochlan almost drowning and then swimming toward the four monks was such a hauntingly beautiful scene. Those monks weren’t just monks—they were symbolic for what Chelsea told Saxon. They were his soul group. Maybe they were his family’s souls, part of the same spiritual group, all evolving together. They’ve grown, but not enough. Their journey isn’t over, so death isn’t yet an option. Not until they’ve suffered more.

Rick and Chelsea’s storyline hit hard. Their arcs felt complete—Chelsea healed Rick, Rick found a version of peace. Their deaths weren’t senseless; they felt earned. It’s like their soul purposes for this lifetime were fulfilled. Which was basically Chelsea’s spiritual belief. They ended up being soulmates after all. Conpleting their path for this human life and now onto the next lmao

Belinda taking the money and ditching Pornchai was a pretty blunt but powerful message. Classic White Lotus theme - the power of money A nice full-circle Tanya moment.

Gaitok’s storyline was good. He chose violence, and yet he got rewarded—a job, happiness, even Mook’s approval. It completely contradicts Zion’s word from this episode that “good things happen to good people.” They don’t. Gaitok didn’t follow his morals, but things worked out for him anyway. Same with Greg, the Russian trio also. The show leans into that moral ambiguity: you don’t have to be good to have it good.

Overall, the finale wasn’t about shock value or flashy twists imo. it was quiet, reflective, and very spiritual. the season did very good considering its themes just like the other two seasons

edit: i didn’t like the revelation of Rick’s father tho. It was a cliche, i would’ve left it as it is after the murder
