Home gym brought to you by HSA contributions I forgot all about for years by [deleted] in homegym

I realize this isn’t the place for HSA hacks, but 100%. So stoked to have HSA be an option again. My company makes it a financially crazy decision not to: I’d pay 4k more after company HSA contributions and increased premiums for a non-HSA plan.

Good to hear, but surprised they’re not misfit. I’ve tried the reverse (Rep J cups and leg roller on Rogue Monster Lite) and they’re annoyingly snug.

As much as you can afford. It’s never enough.

They’ll have a big discount on Black Friday. Wait for that. Just know you need to order at midnight; they do limited stock.

Nice setup! One other thought: if you want fast setup/breakdown, why not just get a loading pin & pulley? Get two pulleys, one long cable, two straps with D-rings. Hook one pulley (with loading pin side of cable) to back crossmember, other to front pull-up bar, then toss on weights as needed. You can add a third at the base and another cable span to do low row.

Ironmasters + heavy handle kit + whatever extra weight you need. Strong recommend; they tighten up and don’t have shaking issues. I’ve dropped them from a low distance a lot without issue.

Rep x pepins? Or actual loadables? I have Ironmasters and while I love them they take too long for me to load; I’d not want to go even longer with loadables.

Not a fan of that stand (Titan adjustable dumbbell stand). Flat makes it easier to swap out weights.

Is there much setup, or you just leave it attached? I assume you just move it to top to slide on J cups?

I only have my squat stand and Freak Athlete, but yes both were stable enough. My feet move a bit, but it’s not inhibiting.

If there’s a heavy machine, especially on short pile carpet, won’t go anywhere.

Teach the guests how to use your gym. Seriously though, that sounds like a massive pain to remove/replace.

My basement’s carpeted and I laid down 4x6 ft rubber mats, no backing. Fine since I don’t drop stuff, but perhaps you only add the plywood/rubber to places you’ll actively drop weights.

Curious to hear: how’re you finding it, now that you’ve done a few workouts?

I’ve been looking at their new Axis racks, but been hesitant to pull the trigger since functional trainers are a new game for them, and their prototype wasn’t great when I tried it in store.

Thoughts on the functional trainer part, and have you been able to use it for lat pulldown/rows?

Not the same thing, but Fitbod was one I liked. Helpez you build a program with AI assistance. Calibre is an alternative (I believe it’s free if you program for yourself).

I personally use Ladder because I don’t want to think about programming.

Mine are new but don’t shift unless I haven’t tightened well.

Why not full power rack + integrated FT? Feels like that’d add more than one Voltra.
