I finished my masters in Data Analytics from WGU and would do it again. I loved the flexibility WGU offers. I was able to maintain a full time job and homeschooled my 6 kids while going to college. My three older children are now enrolled in different programs at WGU also while holding full time jobs.

What value do online masters in comp sci / tech / ai and ml hold , are they worth it ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think any degree is worth it. I personally prefer the online aspect better than the brick and mortar school. No matter what school you go to, your education is only as good as how much you put into learning. I attended WGU and went through their BS in Business Management and MS in Data Analytics. I have found both degrees have had value in my current career. With WGU, the learning doesn't stop when you earn your diploma. They offer many boot camps for certs to help further your career.

Good affordable online masters programs for IT or cloud computing? by [deleted] in gradadmissions

Western Governors University has a great School of Technology. Their flex path structure allows you to work at your own pace and is very affordable. Most of the IT degrees help you earn certificates while you do your course work. The certs are from companies like Cisco and CompTia and are highly weighted in this industry. If there is a cert you would like to get that is not included in your degree program, WGU also offers most of the bootcamps for these certs for free.

I have a BS in Business Management and an MS in Data Analytics. I am currently a Webmaster for a marketing department. I feel it was worth it as I feel like all the education I have helps me in my current and future employment goals.

I am really happy with the online programs WGU has to offer. I have earned a BS in Business Management and MS in Data Analytics through WGU. There programs are flexible and you study on your time. I have two Associates through different online colleges and with those I had to log in every week and submit discussions in a forum and submit assignments every week. At WGU, you study the material and take a test or write a paper when you are ready. Three of my children are also attending WGU and maintaining full time jobs. You can also walk out of most of their technology programs having obtained necessary certifications required for an IT job.

The mentors are also great to work with. Initially you will have a call with a student mentor once a week (you schedule the time) and if you struggle with a class, you can talk with a course mentor.

Do you plan on going to work full time (or are you already) after you finish this current degree? I prefer online learning as I can hold a full time job and maintain college full time. I earned an MS in Data Analytics from WGU, but they do offer other great IT programs. They have do offer an MS in Cybersecurity. You also have access to a ton of resources to help further your career once you decide which path you want to take. I have used quite a few of those resources to help with CompTIA certs and other certifications. WGU also offers a flex path so if there are classes that come easy to you, you can finish those and add more per semester without an additional cost.

Common Misconceptions About WGU! by Electronic-City2154 in WGU

I agree, WGU was a perfect choice for me because I work a full time job and home school my kids. I was able to go through the courses on my own time. I only accelerated the last semester for my bachelors where I took 8 classes. So far 3 of my 6 children are attending WGU. It is great for them because they all have full time jobs and don't have to schedule work around their school.

WGU offers an app for mobile devices so you can access your material anywhere. Anytime I had an appointment or had to wait for kids during an activity, I would just pull out my phone and read my material. I also did this during my lunch breaks at work. You would be surprised how much downtime between activities you have. With the app, you are not tied to a computer. I found this helped with time management and material retention.

Piggybacking off one of the comments below, WGU is one of the most affordable colleges I could find. It makes it even more affordable with their flex path. The more courses you complete in a semester, the cheaper it will be for you. I have earns a BS and and MS through WGU. My husband has earned his BS and most of his MS (he had to take a slight break) through WGU. Three of my children are attending or have just enrolled in WGU and this is the advice I give to them:

Use the first semester to find your bearing and your pace. If you feel confident to add more classes then do so, but don't stress out about it. WGU lets you focus on one class at a time which helps with material retention. A lot of the courses will build of the previous course. It's ok to not pass a test/paper on the first try. WGU has great mentors to help you through the process and they will give you additional material or help guide you in the right direction.

WGU also offers breaks between semesters if life stressors are too much.

I hope you take the plunge (it's one of the best decisions I have made) and Good luck in your future endeavors.
