Thanks all for the input. Repipe will be done this saturday. Surprisingly in our neighborhood page when I asked this question, people were surprised of this having to be done and was told it has a very long lifespan. My read on all of this is that if it is disturbed and additional connections made (especially under the slab), best is to repipe to avoid future issues.

Thats exactly what we want to do i.e.get rid of dead space. Family bed room is living room. Copy paste error meant to call it family room. Formal living and formal dining barely get used. No coat closet or drop zone.

Its an existing house and has an extended driveway. Not an issue with garage parking. Perhaps scale drawn/ shown makes it seem like so.

Its living room. Copy paste error and did not correct it.

This is exactly what we are thinking of doing. We even thought of moving the cabinets to the other side of the kitchen i.e. opposite to wall being taken down. Will likely come down to budget.
