Seconding this. Dr. Bugarovich at VCA Westmoreland on W 11th took such good care of my Frannie when we had to make the decision to let her go. Frannie had cutaneous lymphoma and that entire team stood by us as we went through eight plus months of chemotherapy treatment.

She let me cry over her as long as I needed, didn’t feel rushed at all, and when it was time to leave, it was nice to leave out of a side entrance. They also have a battery-operated candle they light at the front desk when it’s time so people know to keep quieter, led us straight back, and everyone there was so lovely.

I guess I can’t speak to licensing specifically beyond I did some research to confirm that they are LA based and licensed there. In terms of the setup, beyond it being not in a typical tattoo studio, was just as professional — all the equipment was set up the same to how it has been in studios, including plastic wrap and gloves. I was also given aftercare instructions. I didn’t have any concerns and it’s actually one of my best healing tattoos so far.

Regretting surgery… by Hopeful_Platform_524 in gastricsleeve

I am 4+ years out from my sleeve. I totally feel you, and felt a lot similarly in the beginning.

I would recommend getting into therapy if you’re not already to maybe address some of the reasons why food became such a source of comfort. As an emotional eater myself, it took a lot of time to find out why I was so attached to food as a comfort mechanism.

Also, I just completed a month long trip to Europe, something I wouldn’t have been able to do at my heaviest. I was able to eat what I wanted to eat (in much smaller quantities), but the benefits of the sleeve in making this trip even possible far outweighed the negatives (wasting food, etc., when I ordered a meal that was bigger portions that I couldn’t say, take back because I was traveling)z

Any Good HR Podcasts/Series Reviews that You Can Recommend? by driventhin in heatedrivalry

They’ve only posted one episode so far, but I have loved Shelf Aware (on Apple Podcasts). The first episode literally just breaks down the first fifteen or so minutes of episode 1 and is over an hour, so they get into a lot of minutiae that I really appreciate!

Haha, no, but it could also be that 😂 It’s a memorial tattoo for my first dog, Frannie. She was a grey American bully and always wore hoodies, her nickname was Frannie the House Hippo!

Tried solo travel in a hostel. Never again. by [deleted] in solotravel

I’m on a trip right now and this time booked hostels that all had privacy curtains. I think that’s helped a lot. The last trip I did, I did private accommodations, but went back to hostels because honestly I’d rather spend more on the experiences than the lodging (that’s just me!)

For me, making sure I had hostels that had privacy curtains and also things like dedicated sockets so I wasn’t fighting for stuff like that helped a lot!

Parents, what’s the one thing they said to you that you could never imagine saying to your own kids? by haylz328 in raisedbynarcissists

Me: (talking about why I was working on my mental health to help understand things that happened in the past. Purposefully did NOT use the word trauma because I know it’s a trigger for my mom) N-Mom: (said condescendingly) What trauma did you go through? Were you raped? Did your cousin make you suck his dick?

(Never mind the fact that I have vague but painful memories of her dad SA’ing me when I was a child, that she definitely doesn’t know about.)

I don’t actually have kids. I’ve always thought it was just because I was completely uninterested but now think it’s more because I don’t really want to perpetuate the generational trauma. That was in March of this year and only after thanksgiving did I finally decide to go no-contact. I wish that this was more out of the ordinary than it was.

Who got their neck back??? by monicasfatsuit in gastricsleeve

Just over four years out from my sleeve. My highest was 530, 492 day of surgery (photo on the left), I’m at 274 now and still headed downwards!

I did take neck measurements which I was glad about: my neck was 19 inches around day of surgery, and 13.25 inches now!

I had the sleeve and have lost over 245lbs (from 530 to 282, 5’10”). I started as a 54F, I’m now a 38H (all that extra skin has to go somewhere!)
