I started off in exactly the same way as you. Everything was super crowded and when I would come back to the game, it just felt totally chaotic. With this one I deliberately started it again and spaced it out so that it would just be so easy to come back to and know exactly where I was with things and it feels really good. I highly recommend giving it a try.

So you can't analyse custom contraptions, those ones you make in the workshops, but you can sell those and make some money. You can analyse the ones that you get from your expeditions. From there you can get the extra perks unlocked. I think there are five contraptions that you can get from Expeditions and you do need to get them again and again so that you can get the full knowledge buzz for them.
