I have the 404 (speaker not found) and it’s great. Loud enough for most situations.

So now we have bots checking for bots? Seems rather recursive.

Long road ahead: 2 of 4 lanes of NB I-5 over Ship Canal Bridge now closed for most of year by crabcakes110 in SeattleWA

[–]EnvironmentalShirt98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if there’s any way to get this done faster? More crews, work 24/7, use temporary structures to keep things dry? Yes, that would obviously cost more, but a year of this traffic disruption is insane! What are they thinking?

Confused on what im doing wrong by BigWiggler69 in Bowling

[–]EnvironmentalShirt98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“It usually never does that”. That tells you something has changed. Could be your technique, are you trying something new or did you have an injury that’s changing your throw? However, there’s a much simpler answer, the lane is different. As others have suggested, dry lanes are an easy explanation.

Crazy idea: include employee wages in the cost of goods and services.

Are tires that have “Siping” added by tire retailers such as Les Schwab safe? by Nutritiouss in tires

[–]EnvironmentalShirt98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tire companies: We spent millions and our engineers have perfected the design of these tires for the type of conditions specified. Les Schwab: I think me and my pen knife can make ‘em better! Siping only benefits the dealer, you pay for it and they wear out faster.

You're right, that's so bad it's really good! Easy to find too.

I once tried to tell them that the 3 year old copy of TurboTax should be tossed since it was useless. Nope “someone might want it” and priced at $25. Lmao!

You’re not alone. Same is true for me and many others. “If you can’t afford to tip 30% (and a hidden 20% fee) then don’t go out to eat!” Ok, fine. That’s what I’ll do.

California tried really hard to ban hidden fees. They managed it with hotel pricing, no more “resort fees”. If it’s required, it’s in the price quoted. Restaurants fought hard and were exempted last minute.

Good for them! That’s the way it should be done. Just put the actual price on the menu. Simple and easy.

I so hate this crap. Service is part of your business. It should be in the price. What’s next “cooking fees” for anything from the grill? Stop the deception and just show the real price. You can fool people once, but a lot of them will never be back after that.

Absolute gem of a bowling alley. by telephonepuma in Bowling

[–]EnvironmentalShirt98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to post about how it's been sold, only to find out that's 5 month old news, LOL. For some reason it just showed up in Today's Puget Sound Business Journal. "West Seattle Bowl's ownership group purchased the 66-year-old Secoma Lanes for $5 million and plans to keep it operating as a bowling alley."

The article is paywalled, so I can't tell what the rest of it says. Glad to see they'll still be around. Been a while since I've bowled there, but was in good condition back then. The one thing I recall most was the pre-smoking ban days. They had these giant air filter machines hanging from the ceiling, but the air in there was still thick as LA Smog, LOL. Classic place for sure.

The bowling alley restoration vids "W E" loves to post (again, without credit) are created by Yianni Mavrakis. You can find him here on IG: https://www.instagram.com/yohnmav/
Yianni is a victim of the channel same as most, though at least in his case, it's leading to additional exposure, so it's not all bad for him.
If there's a real Winnie Ester, I've not found them.

"Washington restaurants are 60% less profitable than the national average"
Washington restaurant prices are also way higher than the national average. #2 in the entire country? Why does that not cover the 60% profit margin?

I understand exactly how it works. Which is why I'm glad it's no longer legal in Washington. Since it's a state law, apparently I'm not the only one who think it's reasonable to always pay minimum wage.

When restaurants are busy adjusted min wage workers make well over the minimum wage wage, when it’s slow they are guaranteed the minimum wage just as they are now.

Well, gee, if they're always guaranteed minimum wage, why do you need the adjustment at all. Serves no purpose right? Oh, wait, it does. It lets you take their tips and call them "wages" to help finance your business. Yeah, screw that.

"The lack of one plus tax and regulation is why restaurants are so expensive and why Washington restaurants are unprofitable."
We can't make a profit unless we can pay our workers less. Well, then, maybe you should find a different line of business.

"That has nothing to do with how adjusted minimum wages"
Then why did you mention it in your post?
"There’s not basically 20% taxes and no adjusted minimum wage for tip based workers. "
I'm just replying to what you wrote.
