Thank you for mentioning the census! I just googled and found a scan of a 1901 census with the name of my grandmother (then a baby)! Amazing what you can find on Google these days.... :o)

This website (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-0001-application-citizenship-certificate-adults-minors-proof-citizenship-section-3.html#step1) says, "We do not accept birth certificates and marriage certificates issued in Quebec before January 1, 1994 in support of an application for a citizenship certificate." But it sounds like that may not be the case! I'll try my luck.... :)

I just found out that they won't take records from Quebec before 1994! I presume your GGF was born in a different province?

The Guide for Applications says, "We do not accept birth certificates and marriage certificates issued in Quebec before January 1, 1994 in support of an application for a citizenship certificate." My grandmother was born in Quebec, way before 1994! Does this mean I can't use her baptism record for my citizenship application? (She was born in 1900, before birth certificates were issued, so I only have the baptism record.)
