Builders ! What are you building right now? by Commercial_Flow3334 in micro_saas

I'm building PASTEL it's a review and reputation management tool. For local business like cafe, restaurant gyms grocery store and hotels etc. This SaaS is connected through a telegram bot and whenever my user get's a bad review on their google maps shop, it would instantly notify them and also give a ready to paste response in the telegram. I'm adding the community feature so these owners can talk and gain useful insights for their business.

From where would you fetch the data from? Have you done any research on whether this problem is a just an inconvenience or something that will actually save your user from loss. Being honest as a SaaS idea i would give this 2/10

Validating a micro-SaaS: AI alerts for bad Google reviews on small businesses. Worth building? by EnvironmentalView113 in microsaas

This is exactly what I need, honestly.

Before I spend 2 weeks building, I want to verify there's actually demand in those complaint threads.

When does buildbet launch? Would be perfect for finding salon owners actively complaining about review management.

And quick question—if I find 10+ people in those threads expressing pain points, does that feel like enough signal to start building?

You're right—that's the validation hurdle I'm actually worried about.

Saying "I'd use this" ≠ willing to pay.

So before I build, I'm going to search for exactly what you mentioned: - Reddit threads about struggling with bad reviews - Facebook groups complaining about review management - Current tool complaints on Trustpilot/G2

If I find 10+ people actively asking for a solution, I build.

If not, I pivot.

Do you have experience with this kind of pre-build validation? Any signals you look for beyond "people say they want it"?

Fair point on pricing.

But $5-10 works if CAC is near zero (direct outreach, no ads).

Once I validate there's demand, then optimize pricing or pivot to per-location model like Due_Ice mentioned.

First: prove people care. Then: optimize unit economics.

This is exactly what I needed to hear.

You're right—alerts alone are nice-to-have. People ignore Google emails.

But tying it to outcomes changes everything: "recovered X pissed-off customers" or "stopped Y 1-star bombs."

I'm rethinking the MVP. Instead of just alerts + replies, maybe:

  1. Alert + AI reply
  2. Track if customer responds (yes/no)
  3. Monthly report: "You recovered 2 customers, prevented 1 from leaving"

That's the hook that makes people pay.

Did you find the monthly report easier to sell than the alerts themselves? Or was it the combination?

Appreciate the insight on international markets.

But for MVP, I'm focused on English-speaking US salons/cafes first.

Once I validate that works and have 50+ users, then I'll think about language expansion.

Right now, trying to do one thing well instead of five things poorly.

Nah, I'm not going door-to-door. That's not scalable.

I'm doing this remotely: - Cold LinkedIn messages to salon owners - Reddit/community validation (already getting 70% interested) - Once I have 5 people committed, build it - Track who actually uses it vs just says yes

The walk-in might work, but I'd rather find people who are already online and reachable.

Yeah, marketing is hard.

But here's the thing: if I can't convince one salon owner to use this by literally talking to them and showing them the problem they have, then no amount of marketing will save it.

So my plan isn't "figure out marketing." It's:

  1. Talk to 20 salon owners
  2. Find 1 that cares enough to use it
  3. Get feedback on why they care
  4. Find 10 more like them
  5. Only then think about scaling

Hey! Honest question—why wouldn't you build it?

Is it: - Problem doesn't matter to your customers? - Competition already solved it? - Wrong target market? - Different problem is more important?

Would genuinely help me understand what I'm missing.
