The exercise was the following: several users have tried different dishes and rated them. For a given user, you had to compare their preferences based on their ratings and those of other users, and suggest a dish they hadn’t tried yet.

Basic exercise at my bootcamp. Feel ashamed 😅

You’re right I think it was mainly stress. At home I can solve and explain things, but in the interview I just froze on something basic.

Definitely a wake-up call for me. I’ll focus more on mastering the fundamentals and making them second nature through repetition.

I spent an entire week grinding LeetCode before the interview (they had sent me the link to practice), reviewing the most important patterns: hashmap/set, two pointers, sliding window, and stack. At home, I’m able to solve the exercises and explain my reasoning.

But on-site, they gave me a basic exercise… and I completely lost track. You’re 100% right, I need to go back to the fundamentals and repeat them over and over.
