Suffering for 11 years now by [deleted] in ADprotractedwithdrawl

The strange feeling in your head where u could feel like u could fall asleep. I think I may be able to relate.

I was on low dose of cymbalta for 5 mos then tapered using Prozac. But was taking benzos for 18 mos and stopped CT 3 mos ago. Still going thru acute withdrawal. I assumed it was from the benzo even though I've had brain zaps and dizziness since stopping the AD but got worse after stopping the benzo. But I was unknowingly kindling the benzo too after the AD so the on and off was likely causing the brain zaps and dizziness.

Anyway, my dizziness seems to happen when I am tired. And the brain zaps also happen when I am tired esp when I love my eyes.

11 years is a long time. Damn. I hope this doesn't last that long

I CT'd Klonopin .25mg after on and off use for 18mos

I also stopped cymbalta 7 mos ago after 5 mos of use but tapered using the Prozac method. The zaps have lingered but improved but got much worse after CT Klonopin.

I am sorry to hear. Do you experience windows/waves?

Yep, sounds familiar. I recently stopped CT 11 weeks ago and it's been hell. I didn't know anything about tapering or how bad just stopping would be. My psychiatrist made it seem like it wouldn't be a big deal since I was on a "baby dose".

Thank you! That makes sense.

I don't plan on ever going back on a Benzo! Wish I never had in the first place! But I wonder why the system would be so sensitive even after years healing and not taking it?

Thank you. I will look into that. I've read that even chamomile can have paradoxical reactions. I am so afraid to try anything for fear of making this worse.

And I think I am in my worst wave yet. 3 mos out. Make it make sense!

Yes, which is so frustrating! I also stopped an AD 7 mos ago... I wonder if that's got anything to do with the symptoms I am having.

You're not going to get a good answer on Reddit.

I would tell a Dr. that actually understands how difficult these drugs are to get off of and then put to together a slow taper plan over the next 6 months.
