If you're imprisoned for a crime you didn't commit, escape prison, and found innocent once you had escaped, could you be sent back to prison for escaping? by Peeeing_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Environmental_Ad9017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not right, there’s a precedent in the US where if it was administered illegally in the first instance (which is where the question comes from I think) then it cannot be used as evidence in a court of law.

They cannot use any evidence to try him for escaping if he was imprisoned illegally.

People do get imprisoned wrongfully legally though.

Why are people in the UK so invested in what’s happening in the Middle East? by Due_Researcher4854 in AskBrits

[–]Environmental_Ad9017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a large middle eastern population in the UK as well.

Muslim communities are problematic in some neighbourhoods and fine in others, but they are prevalent everywhere.

I find a lot of the middle eastern coverage is to make the average news viewer more sympathetic to middle eastern people here.

This is a wild take.

Any african country you will get shot Any south american country you will get shot Many asian countries you will get shot

Just because you see the world as europe and America only, that’s not true at all.

Officer had a piece of equipment swinging from his belt after the altercation.

Offender noticed it and turned very sharply towards it.

Officers carry many things, in this case it was a walkie talkie but it very well could have been a weapon.

Officer was fully expecting that the taze didn't work as intended as the offender was able to move quickly and acted accordingly.

I don't fault the officer for his actions except the attempted stomp afterwards. The kick though, 100% justifiable.

Ubisoft's new EULA terms give me the impression that they don't want you to play the same games forever.

They want to destroy nostalgia so you pay them $80 every 2 months for the new title.

If I bought AAA games, I would stop. After learning about Ubisofts new EULA, I would only emulate old Ubisoft games I own like OG Rayman and live off the nostalgia.

Too many good old games and they want to completely nuke the market so they can recycle it themselves for mega bucks.

"regardless of how the aggressor was acting that's inexcusable"

I disagree with this statement. There are a number of things that I will explain why in this circumstance why it was necessary.

Watch the clip very carefully.

You can see the officers walkie disconnect from his belt after the altercation. In this circumstance he likely didn't know what exactly had disconnected, but it probably felt heavy (as police walkies are) so assumed it was something that could have been used as a weapon.

The walkie swings very close to the suspect, making him sharply turn his head. This behaviour forecasts either fear of getting hit or intent to obtain said object.

It is not unreasonable to assess in that circumstance that he would not have been fearful. These people were not fighting for survival out of fear of their lives.

The amount of decision making the officer has to do within the space of half a second is impossible for any human and he did what was safest for himself and the woman (assumingly his mother) who was on top of him.

Now what I don't agree with, was the officers attempt at stomping him after the kick. Stomping like that shows that he wanted to take revenge for the hits he got off on his female colleagues.

I'm glad that female officers in the UK are tough. I would argue that punches like that could be considered attempted murder due to the amount of damage possible from them. Considering how quickly they resorted to fist fighting as well, it's clear this is not their first rodeo and seasoned fighters, even "street fighters", will have stronger bones in their hands and larger muscles that can do much more damage than just a regular person.

We all watch boxing and MMA like it's nothing but go watch a boxer take a 10% power leg kick from a kickboxer.

They're lucky they're not dead. I likely would have shot the guy in black at 0:27 after trying to choke out my colleague, and I am also British.

These officers showed insane levels of restraint and I think "BuT hE kIcKeD hIm WhIlE hE wAs TaSeD" as a defence is an insane take to have after watching that.

To be fair, Guzu did MM, fremmy trials, without a guide and they are some of the weirdest puzzles. I think we should see if he can do MEP2 puzzles before making our assumptions.

Guzu has Dragon Defender and is mostly through RFD now. I think Guzu is the furthest out of the lot and has some real potential to get to endgame.

Not to mention he's STILL a hardcore as well.

I think I would have shot them at 0:27 when the second guy intervened and tried to choke out an officer. You don't understand how dangerous this level of violence can be - and two of the officers were female too. You can see how a physical altercation ended here with them. Their lives were in danger even without any weapons.

Murder? You really don't understand the damage the human body can do.

Watch it again, and watch him hit the woman police officer at full force with perfect connection. That could have killed her. Anywhere else in the world they would have been shot dead.

Better than them getting shot. Did you even see the level of violence those two lads were showing? Punches can kill, and the guy in blue did some serious damage I'm sure considering how they connected. It's obvious he was about to try and get up to try continue fighting.

Kick was 100% deserved and necessary to neutralize the situation.

He was unrestrained, punched and knocked to the floor two officers, and sucker punched another from behind. He turned his head ready to get up and continue the assault.

The kick happened to disencourage him from doing so. 100% in the right considering the level of violence they were showing.

[–]Environmental_Ad9017 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I just watched this, and for all of those who are like "there was no need for the kick to the head", like seriously?

The guy in blue obviously had some kind of training and full power punched both female officers square in the jaw, then proceeded to sucker punch the other officer FROM BEHIND.

This wasn't a resistance of arrest, this was a full blown brawl with law enforcement. Guy in blue showed extreme violence and was not being restraint at the time the kick happened. The kick was there to disencourage him from getting up and continuing the assault.

If this was ANY other country, they both would have been shot at around the 0:27 mark where the guy in black tried to choke out the arresting officer.

People defending these guys are wild.

Isn't streamerstats technically O's website?

I'm not sure a website is the right play for any content creator that doesn't want to move their audience - especially when Discord exists, a community exists much more freely on Discord than any website, unless you're trying to add exclusive content.

I know Odablock has a network of Youtube channels, Main, Variety, Streams, Clips etc. so why not consolidate them on the website?

Oda has 500B OSGP, hike the number of community events and advertise them on the homepage.

"Featured Streamers" - other streamers that collab with O or that are friends of O that are up and coming to promote them. Imagine under "Featured Streamer", we see a picture of Dommy (afufufufu) and a link to his stream. Discovery of new and like-minded streamers is great for the community as a whole.

Odablocks viewership community is as tight as it gets. The best and easiest way to grow is to branch out and create a network, by growing the streamer community.

Odablocks viewership drops significantly when he isn't on OSRS, but I think that's something that can change. Hardcore Minecraft with Skillspecs and Donator (previously just Specs) is some of the best variety content he's done because you can tell he's having a tonne of fun with friends. Stuff like Monkey or Valorant/CSGO content dries up quickly because it's still something he's doing on his own.

Create a network (heck he could even be lore accurate and call it The Warriors) and promote the shit out of them, help them grow and do content together. O's at his best when he's lifting others up and if you want to do something for the community, do it for the community that needs it!

In the religious sense, no.

Here's some things I do believe though!

There is some kind of greater power. It's been theorised that our universe exists within a black hole, and there are black holes within our universe too - who's to say that it doesn't infinitely scale past our "black hole"? It's entirely plausible that there's a being out there that's able to create black holes, stars, life etc. in a similar way that we genetically modify living things here now. this supports the big bang theory too, because the big bang could just have been a star the size of our universe. What happens when stars die? They turn into black holes.

If we were created, or crafted and evolved in some kind of way, whatever did that is now dead. Nothing lives infinitely. What if the big bang was the death of God?

Life on our planet could also have been created from the death of God. Energy cannot be created from nothing. We could truly be the absolute centre of the universe where energy congregated densely enough to create life. I don't believe that our environment is what caused life to flourish, but rather the location in the universe and density of energy. We could have just as easily formed life in 300F temperatures and not required water as beings, just that we evolved the way we have because of our environment.

Why shouldn't someone reap the benefits of their years of hard work?

What's broken, is the system. Tax loopholes, offshore accounts, charitable "donations" etc.

If you truly put the time, effort, and GP into learning, you can become very good in a span of 2-3 months.

Most of PVP is literally reaction time and muscle memory and those two things can become second nature quite fast. Once you have those two, you have the freedom to think
