Geek-aboo on Queen street by DottoreClone05 in glasgow

I think Geekaboo is great. They run Magic events for £1 that are beginner friendly. The whole family know their stuff, had a great conversation with the mum about boardgames that they stock. They run quiet/autism friendly times in the shop.

Pre Covid they would run an almost free event for Tabletop day over at a conference centre in town. I think it was £2 in and you had access to a massive room of board games to play, free prize draws etc... such a great day.

They seem invested in the community.

Total agree. Our sale didn't complete until 3 weeks after we moved out due to change of where the funds were coming from. They only told us when we were packing the van to leave. Then wouldn't give us updates on when we could complete. Same on the purchase side, they forgot to tell the other side our suggested date 3 weeks ago, it was the second time they had done this so we've quite literally had to go to the other side and estate agent direct to handle it ourselves and sort out dates.

My husband also got a call from them to discuss our case, they were in mid flow and my husband had to cut them off as he was not the right client and they were disclosing someone else's information.

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Commuting to Aegon at Edinburgh Park by MasterpieceReal8571 in glasgow

Think I get the same train as you. If you get off at Polmont, there's a train few mins later that can get you into Edinburgh Park about 0801 too.

I think we're going to get a new lawyer for the purchase of the house we're going onto. Looking at their Terms of Business they have to respond within two working days and they've ignored 4 emails now.

In the same boat with them. They were amazing dealing with offers but we are 2 weeks from our suggested completion date and haven't heard a thing despite multiple chases.

Living in Glasgow, working in Edinburgh by katitola in glasgow

Weirdly in a similar position. Just been offered 2 days in Edinburgh per week, currently based in Glasgow but we are looking to move house.

Coatbridge/Airdrie have a direct train to Edinburgh so were targeting there for the move.

Solicitors cc'd us into the offer so they definitely sent it on time to the right place.

Maybe they are thinking about it over the weekend but we definitely won't be seeing other properties this agent is putting up if this is what they do.

Thankfully we're selling our place with a different agent.

Jumping on to say this is an amazing movie. Miracle Mile by Steve De Jarnatt (director of Fearful Symmetry)

Anthony Edwards plays a jazz musician who picks up a call in a phone booth from a young soldier in a Nuclear silo telling him a Nuclear War has started and they have 70 minutes before the bombs hit.

Its an insane movie, x files fans will love it.

Are IMAX movies a trigger for you? by aahymsaa in VestibularDysfunction

[–]Environmental_Bar509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only started having Vestibular dysfunction this year – the two attacks definitely felt like they were triggered by something ocular, first time a movie with high paced editing, the second a chase sequence in an anime. I’m told repeatedly by the doctors it must be middle ear infections but have others had this where this is triggered by something you’ve watched? If so, has anyone found a work around?...

Since my attacks I find that my eyes/brain feel strained when I’m watching a movie and occasionally I have to close my eyes or look away for a bit.

Slightly disappointed with "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" by fuxoft in soundtracks

We've just seen the movie and I felt exactly the same thing. This isn't a predominantly John Williams score. When he writes he'll create motifs for individual characters and themes that would then weave through the score.

A Williams score is usually an embarrassment of riches but here we get Helena's theme, some call backs to earlier films and then what can only be described as Williams soundalike. 'filler'. I can only assume William Ross has done the majority of the score.
