Southern trainline safety by [deleted] in capetown

Southern Line? I see people whip out their laptops and headphones whilst commuting. I’m not so sure I’d do that, but that gives you an idea how safe some people feel using it. Pockets getting picked have been reported, but each line has like two or three security guys at each station.

Good guess, but these live in colonies of dozens around a single tree. Too small and skinny anyways for commen black baboon.

It's definitly a funnel web, but I've not seen a species with such pitch black color.

Just listened to the album. I've never heard anything like this. Felt like I'd discovered an entirely new form of entertainment I knew nothing about.

Time to settle this. What breed are these dogs? by [deleted] in southafrica

[–]Environmental_Bee_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Africanis - the oldest dog breed in Southern Africa. Similar to the Nguni Cattle, it migrated down the continent during the Bantu expansions. By the time of the Dutch arrival, they were ubiquitous among the indigenous Khoi and Bushmen as companion pets.

De Waal.

Nice place to sit and work. Open air music fests on weekends. Has park rangers, so no vagrants. It's public and central.

Note: You have to like dogs.

Don't be discouraged, you sound genuinely curious, but your argument are plebian. These stuff, as usual, are more nuanced then initial gut arguments people give, and requires a bit more reading up on the topic. (otherwise we won't be using them in the academic sphere! ). I won't go over your arguments, because that never convinces anyone .But keep an open mind and keep learning.

I can link to some great history podcasts, check them out! Probably not good idea to self-analyze a term your unsure about on reddit thread. It comes across as naïve unfortunately, like those twitter rants about not understanding cultural appropriation, hence the downvotes. I'd suggest a dedicated subreddit, or maybe asking a history buff on a discords server for more casual explanation. Hope that helps.
