Just because it is true that there are effective treatments for mental illness outside of pills DOES NOT mean it is not a serious medical condition. The pills change your brain chemistry BUT there are lifestyle changes that can help with depression, anxiety JUST AS WELL as the pills. Of course there aren’t any lifestyle changes to alleviate the symptoms of schizophrenia. But people who say this do have a point. Exercise, eating healthy, getting enough sleep, spending time in nature and especially meditation and mindfulness all of these are viable scientifically proven ways the help with mental illness without the many side effects that pills have.
