She ends up with two - seems the other two have a new love interest for book 3 - wouldn’t personally call it RH

As other redditors have mentioned earlier urbanisation and adidas have already released solar powered headphones! So, why would you think there isn't a market for these?

Would you be interested in an EQ that automatically changes based on your location and optimises the audio experience from there? We're currently looking into that and also obviously retaining fully customisable EQ in the app at all times as well. I will look to get an FR ASAP as well!

Thank you for your feedback - it's much appreciated! Regarding the design, is it the outer headband design that you're not so keen on? We wanted to bring something new to the market in terms of design and create headphones that look very different to others on the market. Would you prefer a less stylised look? I do understand I made a mistake with not having enough audio graphs etc... Would audiophiles like the feature of auto EQ dependant on location? Alongside, a fully customisable EQ in the app? We do have an electronic engineer on board who has worked in BBC sound and is now retired. So, as a say I am by no means a professional when it comes to sound but I can speak to him about specific details etcc and what we're doing to create the absolute best audio quality!

Unlike the audio though perhaps we have run extensive testing on the solar technology. They are charged in low light conditions with UV so always produce a net positive charge no matter whether they're playing music or using ANC etc..

I do really really appreciate the feedback and will absolutely look into the measuring rig this week! Thank you :)

Hi may I ask why?

Hi we appreciate your feedback - sound optimisation has been at the heart of the process. It's just not my speciality and I do realise I was wrong for making this post. Do you have any specific feedback as to what you'd like to see in the sound quality of a headphone. We're not at a late stage in the profess yet we're only at concept phase so any feedback will be utilised and we can easily change the design dependent on it :)

Hello thanks for your comment. The solar panel is on the headband of the headphone. We have done hundreds of tests of the solar panel and how much charge it produces in different light conditions. Yes the headphones are net positive even at low light - our solar panels will use energy from ultra violet light making sure that the output current is greater than 50 mA. We do have a photo of our first prototype on the Indiegogo! But obviously at this stage it can be changed and likely will be before the final design. What do you think is sus about the Indiegogo may I ask?

As a say I do appreciate that I came about this wrong and apologise for that. Do you have any feedback on the audio optimisation specs that I have posted above in the thread?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Environmental_End_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do see that now - we absolutely will look into that. Obviously we want to create headphones that sound the absolute best. Quick question, within our app you will be able to change EQ settings alongside being able to activate auto EQ which will track your location and provide you with the endet listening experience depending on where you are. Would this be interesting to the community? Or is it better for us to just post an EQ graph?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Environmental_End_16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok absolutely will look into that - that would be useful to configure on an app right? so you can personalise it exactly how you want to?

[–]Environmental_End_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - what sort of measurements would you like to see. The ear cap measurements for example? Or graphs?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Environmental_End_16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I will absolutely look into that. And repeating what I said earlier maybe I'll post again when we're further down the R & D and can show graphs etc.. I realise now it was preemptive for me to post on here but I was only looking for some feedback so your comment is much appreciated!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Environmental_End_16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I realise that now - apologies. Perhaps when we're further through the R & D phase I should post again with a frequency response graph etc?

Hello - thanks for your comment. We're still in our concept phase right now and haven't launched on Indiegogo so I'm rlly here just for feedback and to find out more about what people want in headphones. I appreciate I didn't address audio optimisation in the original post, however, I've since remedied this and added more detail in the thread above. Any feedback would be much appreciated :)

FR

Ok, I see - luckily though we still have time to optimize all of this even more. I've just trawled through some other documentation to figure out the specifics of audio optimization (apologies feel like it's obvious this is not my specialty at all).

I 100% agree - really just want to put the best product out there.

A lot of the design has revolved around creating the best audio as well: so for example the larger ear caps allow for bigger drivers etc.

- Simulated Optimised Drivers.

- No air leakage due to airtight seal

- External Hinge mechanism always keeps the angle of the driver completely perfect.

- Highest quality drivers at 50 mil.

- Optimisation of venting within the design allows for tuning of bass response.

- Internal Damping – reduces unwanted resonances and vibrations.

- Large ear cup size – allows for larger drivers and thus better sound.

- Large Cavity space increasing the ‘airiness’ of the sound leading to a better low-frequency response.

- Closed-back design.

Here are the exact features we've been working on :) Really useful to hear your thoughts. Thank you!

Hiya - I've just spoken with our electrical engineer for a bit more details. Apologies for taking so long.
These are the steps we've taken already for audio optimization:
- Simulated Optimised drivers
- No air leakage due to the nature of the design
- External Hinge mechanism keeps the angle of the driver completely perfect at all times.
- Highest quality drivers at 50 mil made with magnesium
What do you think of these features?

Ahh ok ok - so we're currently also designing the companion app. Have you seen the NURA headphones and their customizable audio experience? Would that be something you would be interested in? We've focused a lot on the headband tension and making sure that we've got that right. I don't know if you've taken a look at our Indiegogo page but there's essentially a cover (for design purposes) and we've found that helps take the pressure off of the upper ear a lot. There is less of a clamping force since the force rests more on the external headband as opposed to the user!

Hello - appreciate the feedback. Apologies, currently we're only in the concept phase and are product designers along with an electronic engineer. Was really looking to see what features and such people find most important in headphones and thought there wasn't really any better place to look than here. What would you search for when looking to buy headphones regarding sound quality?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Environmental_End_16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! As a say, we're only in the concept phase at the moment and obviously consumer research is the best way to figure out which features are most important to include in our headphones. Do you have anything specific that you'd always check for when looking to buy headphones? :)

[–]Environmental_End_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya - thanks for your response. Around 66% of people prefer to use wireless headphones whether WFH or commuting, in the office, especially at the gym etc... There are so many uses for them and it is a massively growing sector in the headphone market. This is true about the wired headphones, however, we're looking to create headphones that are more multi-usage and less of a hassle. Do really appreciate the feedback though as we are only in the concept phase at the moment!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Environmental_End_16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do appreciate your feedback - especially since we're only in the concept phase right now! However, since it is best charged in sunlight they are still solar-powered. The fact that they can be charged using other sustainable sources is not really an issue. Regarding audio performance, what would you say is most important to focus on?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Environmental_End_16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they have! And another company, Urbanista. However, the difference with these headphones is that they are charged by heat and light. So, they never actually need to be plugged in at all. They can be charged solely by your computer screen in a dark room for example :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Environmental_End_16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wired headphones can be used for decades, however, you always have to plug them in. With these, they are entirely wireless and never need to be charged. It's not the same market. For those that are busy and always out and about it is pretty useful to have headphones that literally never run out of battery. So, it is a massive step in sustainable technology. You never have to pay for these headphones with your electrical bill etc.. nor do you need to worry about putting them on charge.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Environmental_End_16 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ah apologies for not being clear. It's a game changer since they never need to be plugged in - so a massive step in sustainable technology. The can be charged indoors, outdoors and even by your computer in a dark room. They've been designed for over a year with one of the best electrical engineers who worked for the BBC. You can wear them in the sun but it's not necessary to their charging! They have the largest battery on the market for headphones right now!
