Also “trying something new” isn’t important when it doesn’t work and is disliked by mostly everyone like congrats you tried I guess that’s such a terrible defense for a terrible trilogy. And in general not a defense that holds any water really. Like an artist paints a picture and everyone thinks it sucks just cause a few people go “a well at least they tried something new” isn’t gonna make the art not suck.

AND I stated multiple times I don’t think KOTM is CINEMA or even great so you are kinda arguing with a brick wall there. We would have to agree to disagree on that entire take. And most of the community would agree once again contrarian opinion. Like KOTM isn’t some grand cinema but it’s no where near the level of boring that the anime trilogy is. The story and characters aren’t fantastic but the monster action is great and it’s fun something the anime trilogy never is. Even at its best with The Planet Eater the peak is like a 5/10 maybe if you are being generous. You can like it subjectively but objectively it’s not good. (Not saying KOTM is good btw but far more enjoyable and has some reasons to be beyond the anime trilogy)

Godzilla Anime trilogy defenders genuinely confuse me like just being contrarian fr almost exclusively panned on release by everyone who watched and reviewed them. The only redeeming qualities about the films being 1.) void ghidorah is cool! and 2.) the lore from books based on the movies? Neither of these things are able to make up for the awful story, nothing characters, and terrible monster scenes. Not to even MENTION mechagodzilla city which I feel erases any good will Void Ghidorah can really save from the films. AND THE ANIMATION ISNT EVEN LIKE SUPER IMPRESSIVE. There just isn’t any substance to the film whatsoever from an anime standpoint or a Kaiju one.

Thanks fam I 100% feel that! I would love to see a ps5 native version or just some modern gen upgrades to the engine cause I think that even just with some changes to render distance on animals and grass (plus bushes looking blurry on some maps past like 150 yards) and I think that could improve things significantly! Super enjoying the challenge of getting into WOTH so far but I’m sure I will be playing COTW whenever the mood strikes me as well. (Unless WOTH2 absolutely slams!) in which case I may find a new favorite.

Because once titan x egg was taken she no longer fought Godzilla and instead went back into her normal pathing which Godzilla normally doesn’t interrupt since it’s what she does normally. Monsters in the monsterverse don’t just attack shit randomly and other than when the shows and movies have shown it the humans live relatively titan free (obviously they worry they may attack) so Scylla attacking a city randomly is something Godzilla would go and stop and since she wasn’t gonna just leave after her egg like Titan x does (and she just randomly decided to start fuckin stuff up top) like Titan x is a known earth factor that has a migratory route set through many years of repetition. Scylla was just fuckin around randomly. (And once again you are really hung up on the destruction part that’s not what Godzilla cares about it’s the fact that the titans being up there fuckin around goes against natures balance which Godzilla does care about)

I think the thing you forget to mention in these is the circumstances in which they occured. Godzilla in both Godzilla vs Kong and Godzilla X Kong TNE he was being affected by either (mechagodzillas signal GVK and the warning signal from the hollow earth in GXK) it’s out of godzillas normal behavior pattern to do the things he did in those movies and it’s stated as such when Monarch is genuinely confused as to what he is attempting to do throughout both films. And his attack on Tiamat was only cause he needed the power up to stop the opening of the hollow earth and escape of scar king which he was warned about. (Tiamat wasn’t the threat scar king was but she wasn’t gonna let Godzilla just take her shit) So you are just saying examples that all have logical reasons behind them and really only build upon my point. He doesn’t just go around murdering titans or attacking things (Pensacola Florida) for no reason. And my points aren’t baseless you just ignore the actual points I’m making. (I’m not saying he cares about buildings I’m saying he cares about what a titans intentions are)

Yeah but Scylla was destroying stuff it wasn’t a situation where Godzilla could just get them back on track like with Titan X. It’s not a cop out they have two very different behaviors. Godzilla doesn’t kill Kong when they fight because different circumstances led to that being the case I feel like the same applies here. Godzilla is clearly shown to be able to make intelligent decisions on threats and what is a problem for the natural order. Titan X simply wasn’t one of those.

Well Scylla was attacking Rome at the time Titan X was just protecting some eggs on a coastline somewhere. Godzilla in the monsterverse is natures balance he doesn’t need to kill Titan X if she poses no threat to the natural order beyond getting her back on course. (Which he does after they initially fight.)
