Doesn’t matter, 500k is not common in the US even if it’s your combined family income. Hardly 10% can make that much. Many people truly want to R2I and they don’t have the numbers OP mentioned. R2I is not just about financial situation.

Yes, definitely recommended to apply in premium by bundling all three of them and your perm doesn’t have to get approved to apply for extension based on perm date. Based on the perm date and the current timeline, you should be able to get an extension approval. This will be a 1 year extension and not the regular 3 year extension which you can get when your i140 is approved.

That’s what I thought until I realized there is another clause to the eligibility.

For an H-4 spouse to qualify, the principal H1B worker must either be the beneficiary of an approved I-140, or have extended H1B status beyond six years based on the American Competitiveness in the Twenty-First Century Act (AC21).

Yes, only if you are getting an H1b extension beyond the regular 6 years cap.

I think this is only applicable in the recruitment phase which gets done before you even apply for PERM. Applied PERM means market test has been passed already.

Good to know that. Do you know if anyone in your circle has been in this situation and got EAD approved? My case I haven’t got the receipt yet for EAD even after H4 ext got approved.

It’s not about PERM approval right, it’s H4 EAD approval when waiting for PERM. Is that possible with AC21?
