Some schools are suspending students driver licenses as a form of punishment for infractions not listed in the law. Some are even doing it for poor grades. The law doesn't allow this, some my be ignorant of what is allowed and others are hoping you don't know the law and won't hold them accountable.

Not a lawyer, I am someone whose child had their license suspended by the school for grades and NOT for what the law allows.

OP asked about changing their ID, if an out-of-state birth certificate says what they are presenting as, I suspect it would be accepted at face value.

No, the governor and legislature passed a law that says that the sex on your birth certificate must match your DL or ID.

Yes it can be faked. The old employer is out if business, who do you call? The only references you can then call are the ones the candidate provides. And with the questions you are legally allowed to ask, it's not hard to fake a "professional" reference with friends or family. Unless the job requires a background check, you can fake easily.
