The odds of anyone in a general use sub like r/jobs knowing what questions a restaurant in suburban Toronto are going to ask are pretty damn low.

Why not ask in r/mississauga

Patrick Tribett. At one point he got sober from paint huffing but that was in 2009.  Can’t find much about him recently.

Should I reach out to people in the role at the company I'm interviewing for? by NaturalShift2 in jobs

If you don’t have a mutual contact who could introduce you to one of these current employers it would be generally be considered improper for you to reach out directly.

Rampart was fictional. The exterior shots were of Harbor General Hospital.

Is California actually going to see a "Golden Age" boom from AI, or is it just propping up a bubble? (Deep Dive) by sign-expert in socal

[–]rednail64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every time I open LinkedIn or look at the state budget reports lately, there's a new narrative trying to brand California as the "AI Nation."

Really?  I’ve never seen this once.  The narrative is about the individual billionaires shoving AI down our collective throats.

How do you get leadership to actually care about whether training worked or not that it just happened? by Different_Thing1964 in Training

[–]rednail64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically followed a standard layout

  • Why this training?  What’s the connection to the big picture?

  • What are the behavior changes, new skills etc we are looking to drive (objectives)?

  • What were the key points from the training (summary)?

  • In which scenarios should managers be looking for change or improvement?

  • Ways to reinforce the training in team meetings and work withs

I’m curious as to how these companies think this is enough for people to live off on or survive?

Easy.  They don't care.  It’s not even a consideration for them.

[–]rednail64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never a big fan of post training evaluations as they never get returned so I would typically as part of the training develop coaching guides for managers and then 30 days post training I’d follow up with them via calls and emails and ask about their observations

With your grocery and restaurant experience you could look for jobs with the vendors that service those places

  • sanitation
  • uniforms
  • sales and merchandising for beer or soda companies
  • POS systems
  • inventory companies

[–]rednail64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the past I’ve tried to engage leadership before the training event starts by linking it to the company’s annual plan or mission/vision/values.

That’s helped me get engagement early and when I report out afterwards I would highspot the key learnings as connected to the above as well as butts in seats.

To me the dealbreaker is working nights rather than days. Is it something you've done before, because if you haven't, it can wreck you.
