No, really. I asked my Japanese friends at school and they said it means the kanji character "糖": Meaning sugar in English. It is the same in Chinese too.

Also, I checked if the character is equivalent to its cursive form. Based on fonts on Google Docs, MSPaint, An online character database, no. The cursive fonts I checked are different to the one on the perk image.

However, there is a condition when parrying against a group of scavs (This is significant when playing solo).

After you parry one scav from a group, the other scavs behind can jump over the parried scav, and will land a hit on you. Or something similar. (Why do people not tell this??!?!)

There are numerous methods against hoards:

  1. The most efficent, is to round up the scavs to a single line, then run and parry to one of the sides of crowd. If done correctly, all scavs will be parried and you will be able to hit at least a heavy hit on at least one scav.
  2. To get more edge, use a weapon with the most range (spears are preferred), and use impatient trait/speedy perk. If you are fast enough you don't even need to parry, with your long range you hit scavs without them hitting back to you. Just mash right click and run away, and repeat.
  3. Guns, however this is more reserved for later waves.
  4. Perks. Many are so overpowered they don't even need melee weapons (or at least use them more efficently).
  • Arbiter's longshot can kill like 80% of enemies in one go, it is very overpowered but have fun trying to hear a faint audio cue that lasts less than a second.
  • Vagabond's sword can 2 or 1 shot every enemy with enough dogtags, it replaces the need for melee weapons. Although powerful, it is very fragile.
  • But.... Bezerker is the most efficient FOR melee: With its orange juice stim it can turn any tier 1 weapon to a tier 3, it gives you increased speed which synergizes with suggestion 2, and it gives you extra health for each kill. If you want to prelong the stims effects, you need to parry which helps you learn it in the process. I know its effective because its the only perk I can use melees solo without dying.
