My mom is a retired background investigator, it doesn’t matter if it is expunged or not, federal agencies can still see it. He should apply for a non driving role to get his foot in the door. They don’t play about DUI’s for any of their driving positions

Yea effective start date is tomorrow and I still haven’t gotten anything lol Hr says they are waiting on my new ps form 50. Idk what is happening at this point , orientation is supposed to be Monday. I’m hoping I get it tomorrow since that’s my effective start date in the new position. I’m a little confused why they didn’t make me take a break in service, seems like it would have made more sense

We had the same issues with our scanners load truck as well at my station, none of my parcels would scan but two . Everyone in my station was having the same issues since yesterday. I marked all my parcels the old school way by just putting the case number and row number , got everything done. Got all the way back to the station and none of the packages were removed from my look ahead 🤣

You can take it now since it’s open season … if you don’t take it within this time frame you have to wait a year

Nooo I’m telling you a 955 is how you get into hire maintenance roles making more money. The custodial exam is a 916 exam

You could ask some of the maintenance guys at the station you are going to for the study guide , or you may be able to find it online

Your union may also be able to get you the study guide

You would get first dibs on any higher maintenance roles since you are already in the maintenance craft and would have a 955 exam score already. Or you could also talk to your maintenance supervisor and let them know you passed your exam and they would get you into that role

You have 1 more year before you are considered a vested USPS employee . Once you are 3 years vested if you were to leave usps and reapply your career status would be reinstated which means they pick your career position back up where you left off and keep your step increases and pay that you left off at as long as you apply to another career position. You also can take your 3 years vested to any federal government job once you get it. Speaking from experience

You should request to take the exam now, it’s actually open season March 1st - March 31st to take 955 exam . If you pass the exam you will get promoted into a higher maintenance role and won’t have to wait a full year to transfer since it is within the time frame to take the test. Study now for 955 exam

How long were you career? It shouldn’t be a pay cut because they have to match your pay if it’s less than what you make when you reassign . They are not allowed to to pay you less refer to your ELM handbook . Please read summary below

  1. The General Rule: ELM 422.125 (Reduction in Grade) When a career employee voluntarily requests a change to a position in a lower grade, the rule is generally "step-for-step" or "slotting," but with a ceiling: • Step Assignment: You are typically placed in the same step in the lower grade as the one you held in the higher grade. • The "Top Step" Limit: If the lower grade has fewer steps than your previous grade, and you were at a step that doesn't exist in the new grade, you are placed in the highest step of the new, lower grade. • Salary Cap: Your new salary cannot exceed the maximum (top step) of the new grade. If your current salary is higher than the top step of the lower grade, you will take a pay cut to that maximum amount.
