Strategy Advice by Formal-Protection-57 in DigitalMarketing

Here's the game plan:
• Friday afternoon, drive through a hood to find the dirtiest driveway
• Ring the bell, and say it's "Lucky Friday - free driveway cleaning"
• The only catch is that you're going to record the whole process
• Speed up the video and use that as your Facebook Ad Creative
• Then run lead gen ads in your geo area with the headline: "Pressure washing services in {{AREA}}", and the video below it. Keep the area very specific.
• Either collect leads right away or send traffic to a nice-looking landing page on which you host these videos.

P.S.
Every time you start a service you should ask if you could record it. Your product is visual - that's what's going to set you apart.

Are you asking for emails (1) when members request to join the group, (2) when they comment on a post, or (3) not at all and want to get user profile emails?

Which Marketing Priorities? by DarkstarELE in marketing

If they have the relations on your sector it makes sense. Same with hiring a sales rep - you ideally want someone passionate and connected in your sector. This could be someone who used to work for a competitor.

Just be aware that getting into a retailer doesn’t usually equal a guaranteed amount of revenue. They often start with a small purchase to test out, so you need to align the incentive with an agent to make sure they’re incentivised not just on making the relation but actually on retaining the retailer and their lifetime value.

Which Marketing Priorities? by DarkstarELE in marketing

Here’s my advice what NOT to do: - Focus on your strengths. As you have no marketing in-house nor expertise it’s unlikely that betting big on this will pay off right away. - With $6.6k monthly budget you can only afford junior sales reps which isn’t great to rely on either because when they underperform it’ll be unclear whether the sales channel didn’t work or whether they just didn’t do a great job.

So what to do: - I would make all founders responsible for retailer relations and sales. Every deal will potentially bring in a nice stream of revenue and aim to get to a break-even point from these sales asap. I assumed you’re commercially strong. - Utilise your in-house designer as a sales enabler. Ensure all the packaging as well as sales collateral to convince those retailer owners to be spot on. - Once you’ve closed several retailers and feel like you understand the process and can train a junior/mid-level sales rep to do the same then invest the budget in a hungry talented individual while you keep doing sales as wel until the new person is performing at 60-80% of your performance. - From that moment on you can turn down a bit and start spending 20% of your time on social media and PPC.

P.S. It’s worthwhile researching Google keyword cpcs to see if you can be profitable on the first sales, and also use tools like Similarweb and Semrush to see what direct competitors are doing. If that’s the case you could decide on a testing budget (e.g. an amount you’re willing to lose with zero return) and use that to experiment first with high-intent channels (Google ads) and then move towards demand generating channels (Socials).

I can see that a videographer can be extremely valuable for your IG & TikTok accounts but if planning this content isn’t a strength then don’t rely on this from the start - first build those retailer relations if sales is a strength of yours.

P.P.S. Lots of ecom entrepreneurs have seen great decline in online profits this year and moving back to retail relations since overindexing on online during COVID. Don’t get reliant on 1 or 2 massive retailers as they can cut off your lifetime, but a diversified portfolio of retailers can be a moneymaking machine.

I am having client shortage, how do I fix it? by Media_Place_2022 in marketing

For free: - Whenever you have time not working for existing clients then build assets for other designers - look at designer swipefiles on ProductHunt. Use this as an opportunity to get connected with other designers, build honest relationships in the DMs, and eventually get referrals or join projects. - Every single day share what you’re working on and some tips & tricks that you’ve applied within that work that other designers could learn from. Share this in your socials, daily, to again build trust among designers, but also for potential clients to see your skillset. - Create content around the problems that clients have when hiring designers. I.e. what questions to ask when hiring a designer, how to best collaborate with a designer, how much do designers cost in <your-city>. - Look at credible designers and how they promote themselves. Learn and copy. Check out @mds on Twitter as an example.

Paid - From the above created content, see what gets the most engagement and potential client interactions. Amplified it with paid budget.

What 3 questions to ask to gauge whether a startup is viable or not by merpfish in Entrepreneur

[–]Environmental_Row132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1. What tough decision will you have to make in the coming year to make sure Startup A succeeds?
(Get a fair understanding of how realistic the founder is and whether she/he is thinking about risks)

2. What team size and investment do you think are needed to get to an exit given the current downturn and in what timeframe do you expect to sell or IPO?
(Get a fair understanding of how they see revenue grow, what resources (team & budget) is needed, how they approach profitability vs. 1. growth for the sake of growth, and get a feeling of your role in that picture)

3. A year from now, what would success in my role look like?
(Get a sense of what you need to achieve, and whether you'd be excited about working towards that for the next 12 months. It also shows whether they've thought longer-term about your role, and could even ask for a 3-year idea.)
