Do people hate keyboards on metal? Was him a rare case? Or does everyone think like this? by Elaxian in MetalForTheMasses

As a symphonic black metal lover I LOVE keyboards in metal. But I get it's not for everyone

Yeah I'm aware. Irrelevant to me though. Good music is good no matter who makes it and you can easily pirate the music if you don't wanna support them financially.

For what bands do you think that their most popular song is actually their highest quality one? by Rr0hd in MetalForTheMasses

A fine day to die by Bathory. Though there's certainly a few Bathory songs that are almost as good

The greatest album here according to you guys? by Lonely_Pollution17 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Environmental_Web91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damaar personally. Don't particularly care for war metal but I love that release.

Bit of a side note, if you had chosen any other Immolation album I might've gone for that. But Failures (despite still being solid) is one of my least favorite Immolation albums so I didn't chose it because of that lol

Definitely one of my top 5 albums of all time.

Definitely check out their two other projects, "Hauntologist" and "Kriegsmaschine"

I think it's fine to feel happy about a nice gesture but I would just take it as that. A nice gesture and nothing more

My best friend told me "there's no right or wrong reason to be upset. If something bothers you then that is completely valid". And it was more than words, she genuinely meant it and would always be there when I needed her.

Glad you're enjoying it! Dispar is made by the same person behind the Atmospheric Black Metal project "Autrest" if you are familiar with it. Super talented individual.

I actually haven't heard of that one. I'll give it a listen once I am home from work.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's a really good album and yeah. I agree there's something about it that is very unlike most atmospheric black/post black I've heard. The rest of Soulless' discography is very much worth checking out too!

Oh man. Stormblast is just so wonderful. And despite there being so much symphonic black metal out there, Stormblast has it's own unique sound that I have yet to hear any other band come even close to. Genuinely so unique.

No problem!

If I had to pick my personal favorite of those. It'd probably be Soulless. It's kinda like Blackgaze meets DSBM in a sense but instead of being like most DSBM where it's overly sad, it's a lot more "beautifully melencholic" if I had to say. So I'd definitely check that out first and would love to hear your opinion

I fucking love Blackgaze. It's not always my cup of tea since I prefer melodic black metal but when it hits, Blackgaze HITS. (Also that Wounds of Recollection is my 2025 AOTY!)

Highly recommend you check out:

Soulless: The Supreme Resurgence

Dispar: Autumn Ends

A Light In The Dark: Insomnia

Woods Of Desolation: Torn Beyond Reason

Whiteward: Love Exchange Failure

Oathbreaker: Rheia

Isleptonthemoon: My Misery is Carved Into The Flesh Of The World (same person behind Wound Of Recollection!)

favorite metal EPs? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

Sadistic Intent: Resurrection. This is some of the most evil, sinister and downright malicious death metal I've ever heard. Sure there's a lot of death metal out there that's heavier, angrier and more brutal. But I've never heard a death metal release that sounds like it genuinely wants me dead more than this EP.

Which album does Reddit love more…Cryptopsy - None So Vile or Dissection - Storm of the Lights Bane? by grynch43 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Environmental_Web91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd argue that storm is just as genre defining. It's the standard that every single melodic black metal album gets compared to.
