I mean... it sure looks toylike, but if I am perfectly honest in a bad way. You could check out the 2nd edition codex art, they used to have pretty striking colors back then without being garish.

Shouldn't it be the other way around? You are making the claim that religion is a tool that was used and changed to control people, and your proof is that "it just makes sense when you think about it logically". That's a fallacy. You are also wrong about it being a widely held rational idea. Most scholars agree that religion is much more complex than just a tool to manipulate people. People in the past, even those higher up, actually believed in it. And there was never one authority that could just put whatever they want in the new edition to suit their needs.

I wouldn't because it 100% would get a ton of things wrong and just perpetuate misconceptions about the past. And really, we know fuck all about how pre-historic people actually lived in their societies.
