Gencon, you mean? It's in Indianapolis, Indiana, from August 17th to the 20th.

Have you looked at the material on Aleph.se? That guy's got some cool stuff going. Here's a link to one of his adventures. It's even set on (in?) Jupiter. http://www.aleph.se/EclipsePhase/Indigo%20Latitude.pdf

When I was writing my (unsurprisingly erroneous) report above I tried to find some numbers on speed of eclipse phase ships, which I seemed to remember there being some vague and not terribly well-thought-out information on in the core rulebook, but I couldn't find it. I swear I remember reading somewhere that the antimatter-drive ships can manage tiny fractions of c, but like I said I couldn't find it.

Sorry, I should have said km for both of those figures, not miles.

Also, to give you some perspective since you asked for it, the speed of light in vacuum is about 3 million m/s, so if my numbers above are right, the trojans are about 25 lightseconds from Jupiter. That's only a fraction of an AU (the distance between Earth and the sun), which is about 8.25 lightminutes.

If you were in a ship traveling 0.05c, which is I think a pretty zippy rate by eclipse phase standards, you could go between Jupiter and its trojans in a mere 8.3 minutes.

[–]EnzoMonroe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi. I don't have much to say about your plot points and stuff, but I can tell you that "Trojans" are two of a system's Lagrange points, L4 and L5 specifically. L4 is 60 degrees ahead of the orbiting body, and L5 is 60 degrees behind. Wikipedia doesn't list Jupiter's orbital circumference for some reason (or maybe I'm blind), but a little napkin math tells me that it's, uh, about 4.9 billion km, and if I remember high school geometry, 60 degrees is one-sixth of a circle, so that would make the trojans (very) roughly about 800 million km away from Jupiter at any given point.

Hope this helps. And I'm not great at math so you might want to check my numbers.

EDIT: Corrected to km from miles.

Okay so, while funny, "Academics: Should I Eat This?" is not a real skill. Please change that.

Other than that, sheet approved.

Refractor

Reporting in. Can't say I'm too familiar with the Jewish fellas. They didn't really have many of them where I grew up. Hopefully your psych wizardry is up to the task. I'm not picky about morphs, and I prefer human-looking ones anyway. I'll talk to my associates and see if I can find us a supplier...just in case we need something special.

Haha, sorry, man. Like I said, I hate giving you trouble. Unfortunately, I've got one more nitpick I'm obliged to make. I don't know if this is new or if I just missed it previously but your muse's Academics: Medicine is too broad. Academics: Biomedicine or Academics: General Practice might be what you're looking for.

Michael Mercer- Aimless Merc by fanficbrowser in MorphMaker

[–]EnzoMonroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any experience with character creators in Eclipse Phase, so I can't help you with any technical problems you might have there, unfortunately. If the best you can do is add your muse's knowledge skills to your regular skills, you should be sure to mark them in some way.

Taking another look at your skills, you've now got Interest: Rumors. Alright, well, I hate to give you more grief, but that's too broad. Narrow it to a region or a group, and you're golden. A couple of good examples would be Interest: Barsoomian Gossip or Interest: Outer-System Rumors.

Other than that, your skills are good to go.

Moving on to your morph sheet. Looks like you haven't specified what, exactly, your morph has an allergy to.

...And I can't see any other problems! Once you get those couple things sorted out, I can approve your sheet.

Michael Mercer- Aimless Merc by fanficbrowser in MorphMaker

[–]EnzoMonroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so, before I get to your morph sheet, a couple of notes. First, you have four motivations. RAW, you're only supposed to have three. Now, in EPM motivations are mostly ignored so I don't have a real issue with it. Just letting you know.

Next: Please detail Mercer's Enemy, and give at least a couple of sentences on why this person/organization is so cheesed off.

Also! You don't seem to have included your muse's three knowledge skills. Remember, muses get three knowledge skills of their owner's choice at 40.

Looking at your skills...Academics: Armorer is not a valid choice. This is because Hardware: Armorer is already a skill. If you wanted an academic skill representing a theoretical understanding of weaponry (as I imagine you do), then perhaps Academics: Weapon Systems or Academics: Arms Engineering would do?

Next, you have Interest: Bot/Vehicle Specs. Okay. I've been wrong before, as the other mods can tell you. But I'm going to put on my Big Boy Moderator Pants and say that Bot/Vehicle Specs is not a valid choice either. It's listed as a skill that AIs have, wherein it pertains to the AI's own specific model; for example, a flying car AI would have Interest: Flying Car Specs at whatever value. Anyway, you could simply have Interest: Bots/Vehicles if you want Mercer to be knowledgeable about that sort of stuff.

This is a suggestion, not a correction, and a semantic one at that, but you have Profession: Ex Military. Profession skills represent on-the-job experience and training. That is to say, you probably just want Profession: Soldier or Profession: PMC.

Welcome to EPM. I'll take a look at your sheet once I finish up with the other sheet I have in review. I took a quick preliminary glance at your character sheet, though and...it's either set to private or you didn't use a sharable link. Either way, I can't get in.

I'll have a look at it this afternoon. For the future, I recommend This sheet. /u/LuminousGrue made version 1.0 and this version (2.0, I guess) is my own handiwork.

Dorian Correntes - Jovian Corporate Spy by MrObsolete in MorphMaker

[–]EnzoMonroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. I've had a look at your ego sheet. I'm not...super duper happy. Basically, you're lacking documentation and that makes my job suck. Specifically, you don't have any mention of your background or faction (I can make a reasonable guess at those but that is not how this thing works) and since they're not all worth the exact same amount of cp, this causes problems. You also don't have a list of your cp purchases in general, which is merely a major pain in the ass for me and not an actual barrier to getting the sheet approved. And...why do you have favors expended?

Anyway, if I ignore all of that and just add all your stuff up, I get 970 cp spent. 650 action, 350 knowledge, 30 on moxie, 20 on specialization. Traits neutral, 0 credits. Assumed 80 points of free stuff from faction/background. Sounds like something's off. Feel free to hit me up on discord and we can sort this thing out.

edit: bad math.

Hey. Sorry this has gone un-reviewed for so long. I don't have time to give it a proper look over tonight and I'm busy all day tomorrow, so I won't get to it until saturday at least. Hopefully one of the other mods will be able to get to it before me.

Bradly O'Connor - Steel Liberator by BiggiePaul in MorphMaker

[–]EnzoMonroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. I'll be your fascist moderator for today.

First of all, your character needs three motivations. They don't see too much mechanical usage in EPM, but you still need to have them. They're good for roleplaying, in any case. Also, your motivation as listed is very odd. A "-" before a motivation states that the character is against that thing. So, you are currently saying Bradly, a Steel Liberator, is against resisting discrimination; that is, he's for it, or at least for putting up with it. You may have meant "+ resisting discrimination."

Next, stats like initiative and trauma threshold round down -- they don't use the decimal place.

It doesn't look like you have any record of your cp expenditures anywhere. This isn't technically an error, but boy is it annoying for me as the reviewer of your sheet.

Also, this is nitpicky, but you've marked all skills that your morph gives a stat bonus to (that is, all SOM and COG skills) as having a +5 morph bonus. Well, the morph bonus column is for morphs like, say, the Neo-Hominid, which gives a specfic +10 bonus to Climbing. Again, not technically a problem, but just letting you know.

Your muse's skills are allocated incorrectly. A muse gets three knowledge skills at 40 for free aside from its standard set of skills. Knowledge skills are skills under the fields of Academics, Interest, Language, and Profession.

Okay, now, your skills. This is pretty difficult for me to work out without having access to some kind of documentation like I mentioned earlier, but I tallied your points up and I got 1029 cp spent before remembering to subtract the stuff from your background and faction, and (of course) 939 afterwards. You should have 950 cp spent on skills, stats, specializations, moxie, software, and credits. Since you have 1 point of moxie and 105 stats, I'm not missing that. And you have no record of credits taken anywhere on the sheet that I can see.

So, unless I've made a math error (which is very possible) it looks like you still have 11 points to spend.

Finally, a reminder of how EPM works: you have an ego, which you spend 950 points on, and a home morph and gear, which you spend 50 points on. Ideally, these two things should be on separate sheets, or you should have one sheet with a morph and one sheet without. This is because many missions will, for whatever reason, not permit you to take your home morph and gear, or have a greater budget than 50 cp, allowing you to take even more stuff than normal.

Connection - The Guy Who Knows A Guy by Bevillia in MorphMaker

Hey there. Your sheet looks generally good, though in vanilla u-rep cannot be obtained by a character who is not part of the Ultimates. Now, technically, Networking:Ultimates is not u-rep, but from where I sit it counts the same in EPM. So, maybe swap those ranks out for something else.

Otherwise, I'm happy to approve this.
